Katri and the case of the Haunted Asylum, Day 4

Day 4.

It was later than usual when I got up today. Last night I went to bed pretty late, so I needed the sleep.

Everything seemed to be reasonably well downstairs. Bernadette was even helping me with the household tasks.

Poor Gabriel seemed unhappy. Having to stay in a place like this can take its toll on one's aspiration.

This morning was the first time that I saw someone head into the bedroom and get some sleep, as I ran into Edward on my way down. I suppose Daisy would have wanted his company, but I think she took another one of the beds after a bit. I suppose even a zombie can't run on caffeine alone for an eternity.

Actually, it was between days 3 and 4 that I realized that the inmates weren't sleeping because of a hack. I have Twojeff's Smart Beds, which makes sims only sleep in their "own" bed, the one they've most frequently slept in. Apparently, if they don't have their "own" beds, they can't sleep at all.

And since I can't control the inmates, they can't have their own beds. Also, since there aren't enough beds for everyone, having owned beds would just mean that the same sims would miss sleep every night. So at this point, I culled Smart Beds for this challenge, and got immediate results.

Again, breakfast was the first priority for me and all the others who needed food and weren't asleep. It seems I've formed quite the routine already.

After breakfast, the next part in my routine are the job listings. Still no Architecture. It's getting quite frustrating. I can assure you that we were all sane when we were locked up, but the the fact that we're locked up isn't doing wonders on our sanity. I must not let desperation set in.

As I headed out, I saw Felix and Gabriel were enjoying the sunshine and chatting in front of the house. It's a good thing they're keeping each other company. I wonder if they've come to realize that daylight time is precious for their sunlight need.

My task was of course to do some gardening and get rid of the weeds. Some strange man showed up while I was at it, he wanted to invite me to some kind of nature club. I'm not convinced he understood what kind of place this is and that I'm not free to go to any clubs and my roommates even less.

Inside the others were entertaining themselves the best they could. I could hear some not so beautiful piano playing from inside. I was told it was Edward who was practicing.

I cooked for everyone as usual. I noticed that now that my roommates had given in to sleep, many of them were less than fully clothed. I tried to politely remind them of the benefits of daytime clothes, but I don't know if I had any impact.

In the afternoon I was joined by Bernadette at the chess board. Still in her night gown of course. I suppose she was more comfortable like that, I can appreciate that.

The lacking bathroom facilities continued to cause some issues. Gabriel was quite shocked to accidentally walk in on Felix, who was trying to stay hydrated.

I suppose they were able to forget about it though, as they were heard through the door to be sharing some gossip in the bathroom later.

Daisy and Edward continued to spend some time together. I was wondering if Edward considered Daisy's choice of outfit odd, but I suppose he just found it an added plus.

Before we knew it, it was evening again and our werewolves went through their transformations once more. This time Felix was considerate enough to distract poor Gabriel, who tends to worry about his girlfriend's admittedly scary transformations.

We had two new ghosts tonight, an old man an an old woman. There was something similar about them beside their age, I wonder if they knew each other in life.

Daisy was apparently a good target to scare, as she and Edward were right there in the living room. I don't think Edward much appreciated the experience of being haunted through.

Or perhaps it was the little accident that Daisy had as a result of the haunting. I was personally just happy that there were no serious consequences.

Bernadette cooked for us. She's managed to do so a couple times now with no accidents, which is good.

I wonder if being locked up is starting to get to me. I think I could have picked a better place to discuss with Felix than the bathroom.

After dinner, Bernadette and Gabriel were pretty tied to each other. I was fascinated by the little green bubbles that Gabriel was emitting. I had the feeling that maybe they meant that he was happy.

I decided to be brave and headed outside for more gardening. I was a little relieved when the ghosts ignored me and floated around peacefully.

After that, I noticed that the piano was free, so I got in a little practice there too.

As I passed by, it seemed that our residents were mixing up a little. Once again, I blessed my lucky stars that we all got along so nicely, at least for the most part.

I needed to get some sleep, and again I could only hope that all would go well for the rest of the night.

The night apparently went on in happy tones mostly. In addition to bubbles, Gabriel was found emitting a flowery scent when in proximity of his darling.

Daisy and Edward continued to be close, too.
 

Felix was seen spending some time with Cecily, getting to know each other better.

Annie spent some of the night playing chess, which is also a good choice, at least if you ask a Knowledge sim like me.

Eventually, the plantsims were knocked out again, when the darkness got too much for them.

Otherwise all seemed to be well. Edward and Daisy even got some aspiration, which has been a rare sight to see.

 

Eventually, it was again six o'clock, and I could hear the remote cries of the werewolves turning back to their normal selves. We had reason to be content. We'd made it another day.
