Katri and the case of the Haunted Asylum, Day 10

Day 10.
Yes, I woke up in the morning. This is getting rather repetitive, isn't it? Well, every day has to start somehow, and even in an asylum you have to get up in the morning.

I glanced out the window, and things seemed ordinary enough, perhaps with a little more traffic outside than I'd expected.

Bernadette and Cecily were perhaps looking to get away from the traffic, as I found them playing ballgames in the livingroom when I came down.

I quickly heard about what had happened at night with Bernadette, Felix and Gabriel. As I was making breakfast, I heard some raised voices from the yard. Apparently Felix was trying to fix things, but Gabriel wasn't having any of it.

Bernadette came for breakfast, so I tried to keep her mind occupied by talking about something completely else.

It felt completely vain by now, but still I had to check the job listings. Again, no Architecture, to absolutely no one's surprise.

However, something different happened today. After I had checked the job listings, I got contacted by the staff. As clearly getting an Architecture position was outside of my power, we had been given a special permission. I was given a computer, and a permission to use it for job-seeking purposes only. The computer would have to remain in my inventory at all other times, and we would not be supplied with an extra chair, but I would have to use one of the existing ones. But still, a computer, with five more jobs a day!

Technically, the Asylum rules don't allow computers, but with all the jobs with the expansions published after the challenge, getting a specific one is clearly quite painful with just three tries a day. I don't want to write a hundred days of "still no Architecture", and I'm sure no one wants to read that either. So a computer it is, for strictly job-seeking purposes.

I checked today's listings right away, but there was no Architecture position on the computer either. That flattened my mood somewhat, but I didn't completely lose hope. Now maybe we would have an actual chance.

I don't know if it was the computer or what, but something had seemed to lift Gabriel's mood too, when I next saw him. I was relieved to see that he wasn't completely devastated by last night's events, or not only that in any case.

I slept too little last night, with the hauntings and all, so I needed some coffee to keep my energy levels up.

I noticed that Edward had taken it to himself to keep the resident plantsims entertained and perhaps distracted from antagonizing each other. In the bathroom, where else.

Otherwise it was a quiet forenoon. I kept working in the garden, to keep the eggplants in good shape.

Several of the others decided to take a forenoon nap in the dormitory.

Afterwards, the yard was a popular attraction, as usual.

As was the piano, where Annie was practicing hard.

In fact, so hard that she got invited into a hobby club. I don't know how the hobby man got in the house and how he thinks Annie can attend his club from the facility, but I suppose that's secondary.

As for me, I hit the books again in the afternoon.

Apparently I wasn't the only one getting studious either, as Felix and Gabriel were at the chess board for a long time. Gabriel seemed to be even enjoying it, or the skill points at least. I was relieved to see that it seemed to be going quite peacefully.

We were having dinner when the werewolf transformations hit. Clearly I've been here for a while, as I merely thought, "Oh, it's eight o'clock."

I spotted two familiar ghosts in the garden tonight.

And it seems we also have a new one in the house, a pale blue man.

Well, ghosts or not, I had to get some sleep. One can only hope that feeding us well will be enough to get through the night.

From what I heard in the morning, the new ghost was rather peaceful and let the inmates do their thing.

In the case of Felix and Gabriel, the "thing" seemed to be playing chess, and discussing Annie's attractiveness. Annie was flattered, but noted that flattery won't do much, as she's into ladies.

As for Bernadette, Edward and Daisy, socializing in the bathroom was the thing.

Edward and Daisy did also clean together.

The night wasn't without its drama, either. Apparently Gabriel still had feelings for Bernadette, and was quite upset when he caught her dancing with Felix. There was apparently an argument, too.

I'm not sure what happened here. Maybe Gabriel didn't fall out of love the first time, or maybe he and Bernadette did some romantic interaction when I wasn't looking. Either way, he was somehow able to get mad for a second time.

It was perhaps fortunate that Felix passed out slightly after the incident, or there could have been more heated words.

After that, the night was mostly peaceful. I could hear Annie at the piano, and I was told Gabriel tried to calm himself down by playing some chess.

The rest of the ladies watched some movies and had some snacks.

With the werewolf howls, the clock struck six once again. Morning had come.

And we're done for another day. Thanks for reading, and until next time, happy simming!
