Katri and the Case of the Haunted Asylum, Day 24

Day 24.

This morning I woke up in a pretty good mood. Yesterday was a good day, I managed to make significant progress on my career, and significant progress on getting us out of here at that. Maybe today would go well too.


My mood did take a bit of a hit as I glanced outside. The inmates didn't seem to be doing that great, with Bernadette and Gabriel arguing, and Cecily in a bad mood too.


I decided that this would not get me down. Surely a good breakfast would lift the spirits of the others too?


For me, breakfast was made of eggplant juice. You wouldn't believe how filling that stuff is.



I was running a little late, so by the time the inmates were getting to their breakfast, it was time for me to leave for work already.



If I could get past the fight going on in the front yard, that is.



Well, it turns out I could, and the fight would have to go on without me. Which it, of course, did.


From what I heard, Felix and Cecily patched up after their little disagreements earlier. Perhaps the setting wasn't the most romantic, but at least it was relieving to hear that they wouldn't be causing more fighting in the household.




Mostly the day was apparently pretty calm, with the usual activities.


Felix tried to keep Cecily distracted from fighting Gabriel, and had some success with that. Everyone else was probably relieved that Felix and Cecily seem to have resulted in less fighting rather than more, at least for now.


Daisy and Edward mostly kept each other occupied, as well as the bathroom.


As I came back from work, I was kind of surprised not to come back to a fight. Apparently Felix was currently able to distract Bernadette, and Gabriel was distracted by being dehydrated.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a promotion yet today. I did fulfill all the requirements, but I suppose my mood wasn't quite good enough.


Regardless, I thought I'd earned a bit of a break, so I sat down and watched some tv. To get my mind off work, and to rest my back while I was at it.


That wasn't for long, though, as I had work to do in the garden.


While I was there, the night hit again, and our werewolves howled in their transformation.


We had one ghost on the move tonight again. I'm losing track, but I think we've seen him before.


There were some bills to pay, so I made a quick trip to the mailbox. Fortunately, our ghost didn't seem to pay notice to that.


I hurried back inside again, as there were hungry inmates to feed.


As always, especially the werewolf ladies ate with a good appetite. I didn't join the others, as my dinner was made of eggplant juice.


The evening was calmer that usual, as Gabriel was sufficiently distracted by Felix. I think I wasn't the only one to enjoy the peace for a change.


I joined the ladies at the television for a bit. Cecily was hopeful that I might earn another promotion soon and get closer to getting us out of here. I hope she's right.


After my tv break, I yet had some chores to do before bed. I can't believe how often a group of eight sims can break the shower!


Annie seemed to be taking her turn to entertain Gabriel.


I witness an odd phenomenon late in the evening: some dollhouse dolls moving in midair, as if someone was juggling them. Perhaps it was some odd ghostly behavior, although I didn't see tonight's ghost anywhere near the spot. Also, where did the dolls come from?

Actually, that's a social bunny, but as I only control my simself, I don't know for sure whose it is.


I decided it was probably just some ghostly trick, and as it didn't seem to pose any danger, I headed upstairs to get some sleep. Again, the inmates were fed, so I'd done everything I could.




Apparently the night was mostly the usual. Many of the inmates socialized.



Felix cleaned some.


He ended up passing out from lack of sunlight later into the night.


Once again Gabriel didn't run out of sunlight, but continued to have energy. Unfortunately, he spent that energy by picking a fight with Bernadette, again. He also lost, again.


There was one thing that happened that was out of the ordinary, and I was honestly pretty worried when I heard. It seems that towards the morning, Annie was exceptionally hungry, so she decided to eat some of our spaghetti leftovers. Unfortunately, the leftovers had been on the counter a bit too long by that point, and it seems it was enough to give poor Annie a food poisoning.


Cecily ate some too, but she had better luck than Annie and didn't get sick.


Regardless, at some point the morning always comes, and it did once again. One of us may have gotten a food poisoning, but at least we were still alive. We'd made it through day 24.
