Katri and the Case of the Haunted Asylum, Day 25

Day 25.
Another morning came, and we're still here. I can't believe it, it feels like an eternity. Even if it is, I suppose you just have to get up regardless.

As I got downstairs, I heard about Annie's food poisoning. Part of me felt frustrated, because if she could have waited a couple hours, there would have been fresh breakfast for her instead of the dinner that had been on the counter for too long. On the other hand, I suppose food poisoning beats starving. By a wide margin, actually.
I quickly made some breakfast for everyone, and told Annie to take it easy while I was at work.

It was another rather busy morning. I barely had time to make sure there was breakfast available for the inmates before I had to get on the carpool.

Annie was fortunately sensible enough to rest, as she wasn't feeling too great. It must have been boring, with others having fun.

Also, it seems Cecily and Felix were having some kind of issues again. Perhaps Cecily was just not in the mood for romancing, being locked up has been quite rough on her.

Apparently even Gabriel can't fight all the time. He was seen gossiping with Felix on the yard. I wonder what they were talking about.

Annie felt tired and headed to bed for a long afternoon sleep. She says that the food poisoning seems to have passed, which is relieving news for us all.

We got another piece of good news when my workday was done: I got another promotion! I'm now a Draftsman, and only four promotions away from my dream job.

The early evening was on the peaceful side. I could hear Daisy playing piano upstairs, and Edward had joined in. It seems she's getting pretty good at it.

While I had the time, I checked up on some friends on the phone.

It was kind of nice really, I wasn't even interrupted by sounds of fighting. I glanced outside and it seemed that for now Felix was doing a good job keeping Bernadette distracted from fighting her ex.

I met Edward when he came downstairs from the piano. He seemed to be in a rather good mood. Being locked up here is hard for all of us, but I think Edward is one of the better adjusted inmates.

The sun set, and I saw Bernadette and Felix still engrossed in conversation. Gabriel was nearby, of course, but Bernadette paid him no attention. Apparently Cecily was getting hungry, as she marched to the trash can to look for something to eat.

All other activities were once again interrupted, as our werewolves transformed for the night.

Not surprisingly, one of the ghosts showed up today too. He's a familiar face, I hope he's happy to just float around tonight.

Cecily insisted on cooking for us, and I didn't object. She's been a pretty decent cook so far, although I do worry every time. Not that I'm necessarily any better myself.
Edward seems to be pretty fond of spaghetti, he praised Cecily's too.

After dinner, Felix and Gabriel were seen outside, chatting. I'm not sure how those two have managed to stay in good terms through all the romantic drama, but I'm definitely not complaining.

Unfortunately, the peaceful chat was interrupted by tonight's ghost, who took Felix as his target. On the plus side, he seemed to be fine.

Gabriel didn't have an easy time either. Apparently a stray wolf – one with big, glowing eyes, too – had wandered on the yard, and didn't like him at all. Fortunately, the wolf soon left us in peace.

I also braved the yard in the evening, to take care of the plants. I was lucky enough to be ignored by ghosts and wolves.

As I got back inside, I saw that the events of the night had taken their usual turn: romance and fighting. Same old, same old.

I decided I'd done enough for one day, and headed to bed.

From what I heard in the morning, Gabriel and Bernadette were both unhappy about their constant fighting.

Of course, that didn't prevent either of them from fighting more.

Annie was perhaps the wisest of the inmates, spending the night at the piano. Thankfully, I'm used to it by now, and she's so good it's actually quite soothing to listen to.

She's quite into music these days. She said that there was again some music entusiast over at night, giving her some kind of a prize for her efforts. Everyone else the closed facility seems to keep at bay, but not a devoted hobbyist.

Annie was also outside late at night, and saw Gabriel passed out there. A little bit of peace and quiet for the others.

Annie told us she saw a cute little "cat" on the yard too, and couldn't resist petting it. By her prescription, it was probably a skunk, and it's a wonder she didn't get sprayed.

Then again, she transformed back to her day self there, so maybe that was enough to scare the skunk away.
Once again, we all made it through the night, skunks or no. Time to face a new day.*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
That concludes Day 25. Thanks for reading, and until next time, happy simming!
