Katri and the Case of the Haunted Asylum, Day 31

Day 31.
The night had solidified my plan. Today was Wednesday, and tomorrow would be the last working day of the week for my current position. That is, I had two working days to gain my final before a long weekend, which would add another three days to our stay in asylum. I'd have to make three friends before I could get that promotion, and I had vacation days earned.
Thus, I wouldn't be going to work today, but would instead spend the day socializing and hoping that one day would be enough time.

It was early in the morning, but apparently a fight was already going on in the yard. The other inmates didn't pay much attention to it, and I decided I shouldn't either. If I was going to gain that promotion, I'd need to focus.

As I got downstairs, Annie was already making breakfast, which suited me quite well.

It was a bit unfortunate that she burned the pancakes, but on the plus side, it was only the pancakes, and I didn't need to make breakfast.

That meant I could get on the phone right away. I called Lauren, who brought the pizza last night, and she was happy to chat with me. We made friends, and that was a nice start for the day.

After the slightly too crispy breakfast, Cecily took the chance to get cleaned up. Again, using the sink instead of the shower.

Annie seemed to be keeping Felix company in the hall.

The carpool arrived as always, but today, I wouldn't be getting on it. I had other plans.

I saw Cecily and Edward were again playing catch on the yard. I hoped Edward wouldn't end up with too many bruises.

I started my day off with some more eggplant juice. I also kept an eye on the windows, in case any walkbys showed up.

As that didn't seem to happen, I moved onto my plan B and got on the phone.

As waiting for walkbys felt too slow, I took matters into my own hands and called the local matchmaker. I'd gotten the idea when we got the magic lamp we weren't allowed to use.

I double-checked the rules, and while maids, gardeners and repairmen are not allowed, matchmakers seem to be okay, so now I have a quick way to meet a couple of new sims.

First of all, we had a bit of a chat, it was quite interesting to get to know her a bit.

I told her not to mind the fight going on in the corner of the yard, there were some issues in our household.

As there were still no walkbys, I paid for a blind date, as that was a surefire way to meet somone new. I decided to spend some on it, too, as I thought we'd be likelier to get along that way, and the household did have the money.

My date was named Greg. We didn't have any chemistry apparently, but we still got along quite nicely.

As I had some foretelling powers, I invited Greg inside to watch some tv with me.

And my powers were right, a fight broke out outside. Only this time, it was Bernadette and Cecily fighting each other. It seems we're truly descending into madness.

I tried my best to ignore the issues my fellow inmates were having and concentrate on Greg. It wasn't very exciting as a date, but we did get to know each other some.

He stayed afterwards to hang out. Red hands is always a fun way to spend some time.

Meanwhile, some of the inmates had an afternoon nap.

When Daisy got up, she joined Felix at the tv.
Towards the end of the afternoon, I'd made friends with Greg, and he left home.

My day wasn't over yet, so I decided that I needed some coffee before doing anything else.

As I was having my coffee, I heard howls echoing around the house. It was eight o'clock again.

Well, that was a sign that I needed to get cooking dinner. The werewolves would surely be hungry after their transformation.

After calling everyone to dinner, I got on the phone with the matchmaker from today. We talked about her profession for some time, it was quite interesting.
In the end of the phonecall, we considered each other friends.

For once, the household seemed rather peaceful at least for the moment. I could even have my phonecall in peace.

I knew it wouldn't last forever, but it was nice for a change. I had some eggplant juice for dinner, to make sure that I'd hit the needed skill points in the morning at the latest.

As I passed by, Annie and Bernadette seemed to be having a game of catch in the front yard. My first instinct was to worry, but to think of it, I hadn't seen a single ghost out tonight. Maybe they were having a night off.

I let out a deep sigh. I'd done everything I could for tomorrow, and the inmates were fed. Now was a good time to go to bed so I'd be rested in the morning, hopefully. If I could sleep.

The night apparently started well enough. Annie was hungry, and fortunately the spaghetti from earlier was still good. Problem solved.

What followed was not that great. I hear that Cecily got jealous over Edward dancing with Daisy, something that had never bothered her before.

Gah! What's with the base game interactions all of the sudden, and so close to the end?

She was quite willing to speak her mind about it, too.

However, it seems that Bernadette was the one who Cecily most had a bone to pick with.

To me, this is the single weirdest picture of this challenge to look at. There's a fight dust ball there, but... Gabriel is peacefully chatting on the foreground. Is something wrong with my eyes?

Annie took it upon her to lure Cecily outside for a game of catch, to keep her away from causing drama, at least for a little bit.

But as could be predicted, that was only effective for so long, and another fight broke out between Bernadette and Cecily yet before dawn.

In the end, dawn did come like it always does. The household was deep in chaos, but somehow, we were still alive. If only we could make it just a little bit further, maybe, maybe...

That's it for Day 31, we're getting very, very close indeed! Thanks once again for reading, and welcome back for yet a little bit more of this madness next time. Until then, happy simming!
