Bonitas Wants, Hurdle 3

Hello, and welcome back to Bonita's Wants, a Great Boolprop Olympic Challenge where Bonita Curious attempts to score 100 Wants! She needs to do that while living her normal life and raising a family. Last time, Bonita got first engaged and then married to her townie girlfriend Brenda, and at that, scored her 50^th Want. We're halfway through, so let's dive right in!

After the wedding (just a small ceremony without a party) was taken care of, both Bonita and Brenda could be found where you'd expect to find a couple of Knowledge sims: on the couch, studying.





There was no resting on her laurels for Bonita, she got right back into scoring more Wants.

Want #51: Gain a Cleaning Skill Point.



Brenda studied too, but she got natural breaks when her phone rang. She has a bunch of friends from her time as a townie, and they keep in touch.



She apparently needed to brag about the recent developments in her life. Just don't overshare, ok?





In the evening, Bonita scored another Want while at her favorite hobby, stargazing. The hobby leader wanted to greet her, but she was busy.

Want #52: Reach Logic Level 6.



All in all, a pretty good day I'd say.



In the morning, Brenda quite enjoyed her breakfast cereal.



After that, it was time for her to say goodbye to Bonita and head for work. It was an important day, as her networking bonuses had promised for a promotion.



Bonita was working too, but she was on a later shift. So before work she sat down and worked on some skilling, for future Wants.



While Bonita was getting ready for work, I mostly watched Benny. At one point I caught him like this, trying to climb the glass wall of his cage and sliding back down. I don't know what he was trying to accomplish, but it was cute.



Brenda was the first back home from work, and true enough, she got a promotion. She made it to the top of the Athletic career, and can now either keep earning money or look for the Intelligence position that would eventually grant her LTW. Whether this challenge goes on long enough for her to make it though, is questionable.



When Brenda was home alone, she headed for the mirror. She may have topped her career, but she still had Wants for more charisma.



Bonita's friend Tammy walked by, so I had Brenda greet her.



And this was the first thing that Tammy did. Sigh. Tammy, play nice!



I had Brenda chat to her, and they actually got along fine.



They were still on the sidewalk when Bonita came home. With a promotion, no less. Go Bonita, you're on level 7 already!



There was another walkby on the lot, so Bonita greeted him too. Sorry, I promptly forgot his name.





A nice time was had by all, watching tv, playing catch, having dinner.





After the guests left, there was still time for working on some Wants.

Want #53: Stargaze with Telescope.







As it was springtime, Bonita felt like doing something fun outside.

Want #54: Play Catch.



As Bonita and Brenda retreated inside for the night, ACR took over. As I knew it would, pretty much the second I'd let go of the mouse.



And yes, there was a lullaby. Bonita is now expecting the couple's firstborn. It could have been handier for the challenge if Brenda did the pregnancy part, but Bonita was the initiator and thus the mother. Well, looking forward to the nooboo in three days!



The next morning started with some delicious pancakes.



Although after breakfast, Bonita was feeling a bit nauseous.



The two of them had almost eaten the fridge empty. We didn't feel like traveling to the store, so we ordered groceries instead. (Now that's been something familiar for the past few years.)





Both Bonita and Brenda had the day off, so they got to spend some time together. Bonita was feeling the spring in the air.

Want #55: Be Flirted With.





Some dancing was also nice.

Want #56: Classic Dance with Brenda.



It looks like Brenda likes dancing in general. When I left her to her own devices, she promptly headed for the stereo.



I expanded on the house a little bit. I made the living room a bit bigger and bought a chess board, so that Bonita can gain logic while sitting down, now that she's pregnant. I also built one new room, to act as the nursery. It's currently empty, we'll see if any Wants will be rolled after the child is born.



Bonita took her new chess board into use immediately.



Meanwhile, Brenda headed for the mirror, and while she was at it, scored a skill point.





Breaks were of course taken for socializing and eating.



After dinner, Brenda got a turn at the telescope, and found star too. Well done Brenda!





As the telescope was taken, and as Bonita felt better sitting down anyway, she returned to her chess board. And that night, she scored the Want that she'd been working on for a bit.

Want #57: Reach Logic Level 7.





After that, she felt hungry again (yep, pregnant), and conveniently, she also felt like trying to cook something new.

After the effort she'd put in it, eating the result was quite pleasant too.

After that, it was time to snuggle up next to Brenda.



The otherwise peaceful night of sleep was interrupted by the first baby bump. Two more days!

Bonita: "I can't wait!"



The next morning didn't start quite optimally for Brenda. She unfortunately burned the pancakes, which was something she'd feared too. On the upside, Fears don't factor into this challenge at all.



Bonita especially was so hungry when she woke up that the two of them ate the pancakes anyway. The leftovers were thrown away, though.



As Bonita was on maternity leave and Brenda just had a day off, it was a quiet day at the chess board.



They both definitely liked it, as they were wanting to work on their logic skill.





Bonita was getting quite good at it, too.

Want #60: Reach Logic Level 8.





Breaks were of course needed, a bit more often than usual too with the pregnancy.






Bonita was feeling the springtime, and needed a bit of help with her next Want. Brenda, of course, was happy to oblige.

Want #61: Be Flirted With.



The pregnancy was taking its toll, and Bonita really needed a nap.





After the nap, Bonita felt like more time together with Brenda. Brenda definitely didn't mind, the two of them being Knowledge sims, there's quite a lot of sitting with their noses in a book.

Well, or at the chess board. Bonita was feeling ok, so she worked on her Logic skill some more. As the telescope was free, Brenda took the chance to have it for herself in the meanwhile.

After yet one more meal, a plate of spaghetti, Bonita had a little bit of energy left to indulge in her favorite hobby before bed.

Oh, by the way. Benny is still there. He hasn't needed feeding all this time, so I'm kind of watching him like a hawk, in case he's suddenly running out of food.



It was an early morning, as Bonita's second baby bump woke up both her and Brenda, and their energy bars were already full.



So an early breakfast was in order.





After that, both ladies got back to their skilling. Bonita's was especially fruitful, making use of the Eureka aspiration perk that she recently gained.

Want #65: Maximize the Logic Skill.





After such a big accomplished, Bonita felt like she had earned something tasty to eat – and the pregnancy had made her hungry again. The toaster pastries that Brenda had made earlier that morning were tasty and seemed simple enough.

After making such a treat, it was a pleasure to eat it too.

Brenda was also spending the day by skilling, and well, dancing too. Something about her feels like she could be Popularity in secondary aspiration, but I'm undecided as of yet. Maybe it's the dancing, or the fact that she had a bunch of friends despite being almost as shy as Bonita.



Being pregnant has been kind of rough for Bonita. She needed a nap during the day again. Well, it's not long until the baby is born.



After the nap, Bonita and Brenda spent some time together, simply relaxing.





Bonita was feeling a bit romantic too.

Of course, the evening involved some skilling too.





Bonita couldn't stay out very long, but she still took a moment to stargaze.

Perhaps it was because she was often hungry due to the pregnancy, or maybe she wanted to hone her skills anticipating the bigger family size. Either way, Bonita was increasingly interested in cooking.

Of course, getting to eat the results of her work was half the fun.

After Bonita went to bed, Brenda got to be the handiwoman again, as the sink was broken.



And behold, Benny needed food! Either he doesn't eat much or has a huge food bowl, because this is the first time it needed filling after the family bought him. Well, the main thing is I've been able to keep him alive so far.





Early in the morning, Bonita woke up to labor pains. They were about to meet the little one!



Brenda was in deep sleep, but she did wake to Bonita's yells. She was only getting up when Bonita already held the newborn in her arms.



They had a little boy named Brandon. Bonita's features dominated as was to be expected, I was a little lazy and didn't give her any recessives, so she's a full alien in this 'hood. Anyway, welcome to the family Brandon!



Many a simmer panics at this sight, as passing the baby to another adult right after the birth usually means there's another one about to be born. But in Bonita's case? Nah, she just had the pressing need to make the bed.



Brenda took care of the little one and got some nice warm clothes for him. Bonita would stay with Brandon for the first day, so Brenda got to spend a bit of time with him first.





There was a little time for skilling while Brandon slept and before Brenda's carpool showed up.


Brenda doesn't have days off in store, so she got to go to work while Bonita would spend one of her maternity leave days right away.





The day was a pretty uneventful one. Bonita mostly took care of little Brandon, skilled and surfed on the web too.



Once Brenda came home from work, Bonita headed to the grocery store. To fill the fridge, and to reroll her Wants a little bit.





After dinner, Brandon didn't need her right then, so it was a good time for Bonita to stargaze a bit.

She was still interested in cooking too, and wanted to invest in some kitchen appliances.

It was good to head to bed early, as there was of course diaper duty during the night too.






In the morning, Brenda made a decision. There was an opening in the Intelligence career on the web, and it was her dream career, so she made the switch. If the challenge keeps going at this point, it'll likely be over before she can actually top it, but still it gives her something to work for.



They shared a nice breakfast with Bonita. Brenda has today off in her new job today, so Bonita can head to work instead. She's met all her promotion requirments, so Brenda's day off comes at a good time.





Before her carpool arrived, Bonita was able to get herself into a great mood. She also passed an important milestone at that: her 75^th Want.

Want #75: Reach Cooking Level 7.

This I believe is a good place to wrap up the update. We've made it to the third hurdle, and there should yet be time for the final one before the summer challenge ends. The score is currently as follows:
+25 for the first hurdle
+ 50 for the second hurdle
+ 75 for the third hurdle
+ 10 for Bonita maximizing the Logic Skill

Total: 160 points
