Lakewood BaCC: Week 3, Part 3

Ha! So I finally got my act together and finished typing the Curious update. It's a little long (and that's partly why it took me so long), but what can I say, it was an eventful week too!

Anyway, as always, comments are welcome wherever you might feel inclined to leave them. I hope you enjoy!

Long comment, as I typed it as I read:

I didn't realise how much of a help magic would be for a business! I might have to try it out for myself - I'm so bad at building up ranks. And the throne is fair game, I'd say, I've been using it. :)

The headmaster's hair gets me every time!

Octavia's going to be a nude hot-tubber when she grows up, by the looks of her personality! All of the kids are quite unique looking, even Bonita who didn't get Nervous's fun genetics, but they're adorable, too! I had to check why the girls had so few nice points - I had no idea Nervous was completely lacking in nice points!

That Summerdream is Bottom, not Puck :) She looks so furious as she steals that gnome! I wouldn't want to steal it back from her! I'm glad she got along with the family, though.

I use the "paint still life" option too. It's just easier, I think, plus gives you more control over what your sim actually looks like in the painting.

Wow, Lola and the General. That's a pairing I never thought I'd see! In fact, a lot of the pairings in this 'hood are surprising me

Werewolves can be such hard work. Good idea to get started on it in advance, I'd say :) You can invited the wolves to parties, so at least there's that, right?

Great update! It's fun watching the families progress!

I didn't realize it before either, only now that I played Pascal at the electronics store I found how handy it was. The needs boost from the spell isn't huge, and the casting sim drains some... comfort, I think? Plus there's apparently a chance of failure, meaning the needs will go down instead of up. But still, if you make/buy enough reagents, it's easier to keep casting the spells than to use the energizer, and you don't have to worry about aspiration level. I'll definitely be using magic to my advantage for the Curious family - and I want to get a throne for the family too. :)

That's quite some hair on the headmaster, it does amuse me every time he comes for a visit. :D

All the girls are cute and unique looking, I'm quite happy with how they turned out. Oh yeah, and the lack of nice points is definitely from Nervous. And that's actually a plus in Odessa and Octavia's columns when considering heirs, because someone needs to keep stealing back the gnome!

Whoop's, you're right, I mixed the Summerdream kids up! Puck is the teenage boy, and Bottom is the little girl. That's quite the gnome-stealing face she makes, but she does seem to get along with everyone actually.

Yeah, with Still Life you can get a bit of variety too if you like, and it's easier since the target doesn't have to stand as a model. Plus, apparently less glitchiness.

Yeah, I would never had guessed Lola and the General either! It's funny how usually the General is characterized as having anti-alien attitudes and then my game gives me this! Well, they're pretty cute together, so if I ever make them playable I might just consider keeping them together. :) It's really fun watching the pairings form naturally, without the pre-existing relationships or borders between neighborhoods. There have been some surprises!

Apparently the werewolves are indeed hard work, I've never managed to have one. Oh, thanks for the party tip, didn't think of that! I'll have to try that out, since the family has to throw a party once a season anyway. :)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed! :)

Wow, so much accomplished in this update! Did Ajay ever sleep? ;) Looks like you're doing great with the OWBC too :) I love that little gnome feature Maxis put in the game <3

Your headmaster and business reviewers' luxurious locks always make me laugh!

I haven't seriously tried getting a werewolf or completing a bug collection yet - more to put on my to-do list... I have heard that wolves are attracted to lots with trees, if that might help.

Good to know about the witch spell helping so much with running a business!

I think the two daddies raising three girls is so sweet!

It was a busy week indeed, I especially got a little carried away with the businesses. :) Even the adults did sleep some, but admittedly not that much! The gnome is proving to be quite fun, I'm glad that Nervous is taking care of stealing it back!

It's pretty funny with the hairs those two ended up with. In the reporter's case it sort of matches his surfer look, but the headmaster especially looks pretty hilarious. :D

I think both of those things are new to me too. I'm not 100% sure about the bug collection, but I've definitely never had a werewolf. Yeah I've heard that trees and toddlers are an attraction. There might not be any more toddlers in this generation, but I might try the trees, and Sam hinted that you could invite wolves to a party, so I should try that out too.

I'm definitely going to keep using spells at the businesses in this family. The boost is smaller than an energizer, and there's a chance of failure (so needs can go down instead of up), but if you have enough reagents you can do it repeatedly and don't have to worry about aspiration level.

They are a pretty cute family, and it's fun how they ended up with three girls. :)

Thanks for reading and commenting, Lorin!

Congratulations on the fire! :) (Which is an odd thing to write, but in this context, it makes sense.)

Level 8 at the business so quickly! Wow! Well done! *\o/*

I have a naughty mind -- I didn't think that General Buzz and Nina were sneaking away to steal any gnomes... O_O

Cute Odessa is cute.

What is the point of being a warlock if you can't have a spiffy little secret magic room, that's that I want to know.

I say the throne totally counts as an active mood booster. I think it's things like snapdragons and Jumbok that are off limits.

I think Octavia has Nervous's eyes. (And so do you, apparently. Can you tell I'm commenting as I go? :P)

I think that might be Bottom stealing the gnome. Puck is the redheaded teen boy...

Congratulations on getting that novel done so quickly!

You're doing really well! Keep it up!

[identity profile] katrisims.livejournal.com 2016-05-31 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)

Thanks! I always feel funny writing that too, but in a BaCC, it's a totally appropriate thing to congratulate someone about!

Thanks. :) It seems that the Lakewoodians are into electronics, as Curious Gadgets is the most successful business in town so far. It seemed to gain stars really quickly, and made a lot of money too. Consequently, the Curiouses are currently the wealthiest family in town.

Heh, indeed you do! I haven't noticed General Buzz and Nina show interest in each other (the General is into Lola Singles and Nina Daniel Fortunato, at least), and if they did, they probably wouldn't be secretive about it. :D The house doesn't have a place that guests could use to woohoo, so I suppose stealing the gnome is the next best thing. :)

Odessa is indeed cute. I'm happy with how all the girls turned out, they got fun genetics.

I think Pascal agrees with you, he appreciates his spiffy little secret magic room.

Yeah, that's how I thought it too. And now I want Pascal his own throne! I don't think any of my sims have ever had one.

Yeah, Nervous' eyes definitely. Those are the one thing I can recognize for sure in the girls' genetics.

Oh yeah, I mixed up the Summerdream kids, that's indeed Bottom and not Puck. I should fix that, already meant to but forgot. Thanks for pointing it out!

Thanks! That's one thing off my list, the first novel.

Thanks, Esme! :) And thank you for reading and commenting!
