Greetings from my new place

*runs by and waves*

So yeah, I've been sort of absent. Real life has, again, gotten the better of me. Life's been kinda busy since I moved, and I think it'll continue to be so for, dunno, a week or two yet. But now that I had a bit of time, I thought I'd sit down and say hi.

So, first of all, thanks, all, for your warm congrats on my new home! :) The situation is currently that I'm moved in, and my stuff is in its correct place, except for some sheets that still wait to be ironed. I've even got my electronics installed and working, and I have lamps, yay. I don't have a bed or a couch yet (those'll be coming in the end of July, because the sofa factory closes itself entirely for summer holidays), but I do have internet, have had for almost since the beginning. Who needs a bed or a couch anyway, if they can have internet, right?

Moving has taken a big chunk of my time lately. Getting the loan, getting the paperwork of the apartment signed, getting a new home insurance, painting the appartment, moving the stuff in, putting my furniture back together, installing the electronics, finding places for my things, buying all sorts of home stuff from curtains to ironing boards... But now I'm pretty much done with all that, so now I'm content.

The next big thing with the apartment is the plumbing renovation that's coming in the autumn. Some people might think I'm crazy for moving in a place that has it coming, but really, if I want an apartment in the area where I want it, it's going to come at one point or another, the houses are all just about that age. And well, now I know when it's coming, just about how much it's going to cost and that I can afford the apartment and the renovation. Plus I get to pick and choose what kind of walls and floors and stuff they're going to put in my bathroom. Just today I've been looking at the alternatives, which all seemed pretty nice. I know I'll be moaning when the renovation actually starts, but right now I'm happy, and when it's done it'll be done for the next 30+ years.

In addition to that, life's been busy otherwise, too. Just last weekend I was at a wedding, this weekend is a Bon Jovi show I'm going to see, and next weekend is the midsummernight celebration, which is sort of big in Finland. Not to mention between the weekends there's work and stuff to do, of course. Work's been going nicely, we just got a paper through with the group. Means I've got some polishing work to do before I get my summer holiday. But, even the holiday is coming. Hooray for that!

Okay, but such is going on with me. It seems I'll be busy for some time yet, but I'm here and I'll be able to catch up with sims stuff eventually. I'm looking forward to that. :) Meanwhile, take care and again, don't burn the place!

Yay on the house! Seems like you've been busy, and have some more busyness yet to come!

Great to hear everything is great with the new apartment! I guess that even the plumbing renovation can be a real pain you are much better of now that you know it already before you even bought the apartment. If you are living in an apartment and then one day you just get the news about coming renovation, it is completely different thing.

And of course it is good excuse to meet more your friends - to have a shower every now and then. :D
