Weekly simming 18/2015

I'll confess, I didn't actually sim much this week. I had a kind of a bad start of the week. Long story short, it was a peak in unhappiness about how I look, my weight etc. Kind of stupid really, but I was pretty upset in the beginning of the week. It's gotten better since, and I'm trying to do something about it, so it'll be ok.

Anyway. So during the week I didn't sim much, actually mostly played Civ V online with my sister. I guess I felt like taking a break. I did sim a bit during the weekend, started playing the second week for the Davidsons. And I wrote a little bit too, though not a substantial amount. Playing was fun and there was progress, so that's all good.

Also, Lakewood: Just a BaCC got selected as a featured story over at Boolprop, so I got to answer questions on a short interview one evening. (Features are picked randomly from stories updated after the last features.) It was nice, helped me get my mind off things for a bit. Just checking back now, it seems the features post is up, so if you want to read my interview, along with a couple of others, now you can. :)

That's all this week I think. We'll be back next week!

I read your interview, it was nice to know I was an influence in you starting your BaCC :)

For what it's worth, I always have to watch my weight these days. I've been going to Weight Watchers for over a year (for the second time) and now I'm almost where I want to be (haven't decided on a specific number goal yet), but even after I reach it, I'm going to continue going to the meetings to keep me in a healthier mind set about food and hopefully prevent me from going back to old bad habits. I also started riding my bike again for recreation a couple of years ago. It's exercise I enjoy because it's genuinely fun for me and brings back nice childhood memories, and now a friend from work has started riding with me, so less excuse for not going! Just doing little things like that and trying to make healthier food choices is getting easier as it becomes part of my normal routine. All the little changes I've made have, over time, made a big difference in how I look and feel! Anyway, best of luck finding what works for you! :) *hug*

You definitely were. :) The rules as such felt interesting, but yours was among the first BaCCs that I read (possibly the first), and it made the challenge look like a lot of fun!

Thanks for the encouragement, Lorin. I've been battling with my weight pretty much all my adult life; I like eating a little too much for my own good, and it's frustratingly easy to go back to my old habits, eat too much and gain weight. Now I'm trying to watch my eating again, and it seems I've already lost a bit of weight, so that's good. I used to enjoy exercising, but for the last couple of years or so, my motivation has been lacking. I think it has to do with a few unfortunate incidents, like hurting my foot while jogging just when I was getting close to my distance goal, and my gym having to give up my favorite class (indoor cycling). So for now, I'm just trying to watch what I eat and stick to my habit of walking to work, then maybe see about exercise again later if I feel like it. One step at a time, and I can do this. :)
