Winter picspam, part 5
While my big machine crunches a full backup of everything for me, I'll go ahead and post the fifth and final part of the Winter picspam. Which means I'm done with the main hood rotation - progress, yay! Next, after a little bit of maintenance and stuff, I get to play college, with graduations, and then start over from the main household. Good, good. But now, for the picspam!
The Mendoza/GilsGarbo household
Author + Salahuddin -> Aadam + Joy -> Beatrice + Brenda
First up is a house only consisting of two adults and a dog. The adults of the house are Beatrice Mendoza, one of Aadam and Joy's twin daughters, and her girlfriend, Brenda GilsCarbo. They have a dog called Mimi.
Both Beatrice and Brenda are romancers, even though so far they've been kinda exclusive. As they are romancers, my current plan is to keep them childless, they're romancers so they don't crave babies, and since they're gay, they won't try on their own without pregnancy-for-all (which I don't have, but I do have marriage-for-all). I figured that they'd be happy just the two of them, a sort of a party-house for two. (I don't currently have so many full-on romancers that I could actually have a bigger party-house for them.) I might consider combing them with, say, Barbara and Tara's household later, when Aadam and Joy have died, we'll see.
So, lots of usual stuff. Discussions about relatives getting married, friends, promotions. Also, dogs having fun the dog way. Must be great to come back from work and find out that the dog has knocked over the trash can, rummaged in the trash, and is now rolling in a pee puddle. Not.
I suppose Mimi still has some training to go through.
Beatrice continues working on her makeover badges - only the gold one to go. She's had those wants locked for most of college, but the makeover badges are a pain. Whatever she's going to do with them after she's gotten them I've no idea, but at this point it's a matter of principle, I'm not giving up!
I still love the mailman.
In addition to townies, also Brenda gets to be Beatrice's victim - and well, sometimes this happens. Not as often anymore though. Luckily, unlike townies, Brenda can't run away before Beatrice can fix the damage.
Brenda wanted a party, so I gave her one. What's a party house without parties, right?
Yes, ladies, Calista is using the bathroom, and you can't go there. And even if she wasn't, the bedroom wouldn't be the correct way there. Now shoo, Beatrice and Brenda would like to work on the party score.
I'd never seen anyone start a snowball fight like this, and thought at first that it was a new kind of prank I was seeing. (My recollection is that usually my sims ask each other wether they'd like to snowball fight rather than just throw them with a snowball. Then again, they don't snowball fight that often either.)
But apparently they both liked it and rushed off to throw snowballs.
The party was a success, and Brenda was - as you can see - thrilled. And yes, guys, Beatrice is in the bathroom. You don't need to go to the bathroom to get out of the house, you know.
Brenda gets a magic lamp, too. I've got a lot of lamps in various inventories now.
Both of the ladies are in the Culinary career, as they have that LTW in common. Naturally, Beatrice is somewhat ahead in that, since Brenda is a dormie. But, both are making nice progress.
The house is slightly cramped, but we could just about fit in a chess board, so that Brenda could practise her logic. Hopefully next rotation they'll have enough money to enlarge the house a bit.
Just before the end of the rotation, Beatrice made it to the top and got permaplat. Now she wants to be a Space Pirate.
And well, how do two romance sims celebrate?
By making the friend brought home from work feel awkward, of course.
The Hamilton household
Author + Count Curtis -> Arthur + Meadow -> Bailey + Marsha -> Chip + Sunny -> Damien
Salahuddin -> Marsha + Bailey -> Chip + Sunny -> Damien
Next up, the Hamiltons. The adults of the house are Chip, who's the son of Marsha and Bailey, and his wife, Sunny. In the beginning of the rotation, their son Damien is a toddler.
So, toddler training and promotions going on. Sunny is working on becoming Mad Scientist, Chip already made it to Criminal Mastermind last rotation.
Lots of pictures of Damien since he's so cute.
The cooking hobby lady stopped by (I think Sunny was studying cooking and made the hobby club), and noted that it's snowing outside.
Time to throw Damien a birthday party. Not an actual one, though, as the birthday boy was afraid of parties. Just some relatives over and so.
Damien and Gramma Marsha got along just fine.
And here's Damien all childified and all made over. Still a cutie.
On his first day at school, Damien brought home Devon GilsCarbo, Carl and Veronica's son. He quite liked jumping on the bed.
Chip would like you to know that he found an opening in the Dance career and is now working towards his second LTW.
At the end of the evening, Damien and Devon had made buddies.
A little bit after Devon had left, Audrey showed up and was invited in. I suspect she was going to pick Devon up, but was slightly late. In any case, she got to meet the family.
And Damien found that his OTH is sports.
At this point, I kinda freaked out. The game claims Sunny got a cooking skill point out of nowhere, while using the toilet? ... all the while she gets a heureka moment over mechanical?
In the end, I figured it was probably a mechanical point for which she had the want (I think) and the text somehow just glitched. And she did unclog the toilet before using it, so that's probably where it came from. Hopefully just a harmless small glitch. At least I haven't seen anything else amiss. *knocks on wood*
The next day, Damien brings home David London - Carl and Audrey's son and Devon's half brother.
David's eager to socialize with Sunny, and jump on the bed, like Devon. Meanwhile, Damien played computer games.
They did, however, play some chess in the evening. Though David wasn't too impressed by Damien's reckless cheating.
This time, Veronica showed up to pick up David. I love how she and Audrey take care of each other's kids. <3
Anyway, that concludes this house. Next!
The Thayer/Fuchs household
Author + Count Curtis -> Arthur + Meadow -> Bonnie + Thomas -> Clarissa + Glen -> Daniel
The last house of the main hood rotation and thus today's picspam is the house of Clarissa Thayer and her boyfriend Glen Fuchs. The two aren't married and I don't think they plan on being, but last rotation they threw me a risky. Their son, Daniel, is an infant at the beginning of the rotation.
Clarissa: "Ooooh, that's interesting! No, no, it's fine, you're not interrupting at all, I'm just here, chatting and standing in the doorway. The maid there looks kinda annoyed, though, no idea why..."
Glen's secondary is Grilled cheese, so a lot of meals consist of cheese. Secondary cheese aspiration may be a little annoying in that it takes over the primary aspiration kinda easily, but on the other hand, at least it has nice, big wants.
The various maids in the hood must be quite accustomed to this by now.
Also, I didn't know that the maids will fill in holes dug by dogs and wolves. Cool.
Birthday time for little Daniel!
Here he is, toddlerized and made over. Such a cutie. <3 He's a 2/8/9/6/1 Gemini.
Glen called in sick, since Clarissa had the skills for her next promotion and he didn't. This animation always amuses me.
So Glen got to look after Daniel, and practise his charisma.
And already the next day, he topped Slacker and got permaplat. Now he wants to woohoo with 20 different sims. I won't stop him if he does (unless he messes with my other sims' relationships), but I think it's unlikely that he tries this one.
For the record, Glen quite enjoyed eating salad.
Clarissa, too, makes good progress towards her LTW. She's already permaplat from maxing the lifetime happiness meter, though.
Daniel didn't fear parties, so he got an actual birthday party.
Apparently Daniel is a sociable little fellow. I had to feed his parents, and while I was doing so, he sneaked on the porch and quite autonomously asked for attention from both Thomas and Bonnie. Thomas' tickle didn't go over well, but Bonnie's snuggles were well received. So now he knows his grandparents some.
The party was a success, and after his makeover, Daniel is still a cutie.
And apparently, the rotation isn't complete without yet one more burglary. Dunno what's up with the burglars currently, but they sure are making a lot of attempts to rob my sims.
This attempt failed, though. Officer Demi was there to arrest Jessica before she could decide what to take. Glen woke up to the alarm, but casually proceeded to take out the trash, and Clarissa just rolled over in bed and continued sleeping. In fact, little Daniel was the only one who came to watch the fight.
After the burglar was taken away, everyone found their favorite ways to sooth their nerves. And that's it for the rotation!
So, right now it's time for backups and some maintenance. Then I think I might post some hood babbles some time soon, and then, it's time for college graduations.

I wouldn't worry about the skill point glitch. I had one last year where Jojo and Lawrin were both skilling on the obstacle course, and they each got two popups for each point they gained. I think the game just sometimes likes to play tricks on you.
