Wishful thinking
Apparently it's been nearly a month. Oops. Well, since it has, I thought I could sit down and do a real life update since there is no simming update to be had.
I'm still waiting for the new computer to happen. My friend has been doing other stuff and I've had to poke him a little. Not least because I'm getting anxious to get back to my simmies and stuff, to see if everything's okay. Now he's given me a suggestion list of parts for the computer, and it looked good to me. If all goes ok, I hope we'll go to buy the parts tomorrow or Saturday. (Meaning he discusses with the store clerk about what kind of parts we'd like and what they have, and I stand there and wait until it's time for me to hand my card to the clerk.) I hope that works out, and that he also has time to put it together asap. *crosses fingers*
So, since I'm desktopless right now, there's not really anything up simming wise. I've simmed a couple of times on my laptop, but it's not really the same. My more interesting families are on the desktop (or now on the external hard drive which may or may not contain a virus), plus this thing heats like mad when playing. Had I been in the writing phase of things when this happened, I could have worked on the next chapter, but no such luck - I was actually in the middle of playing the main house and taking pictures.
So mostly I've been doing Other Stuff (TM). I've started working out again. Swimming, and more recently jogging. I used to dislike jogging big time, but I've come to realize that was because I always used to have to walk in between and that was irritating. Now that I'm actually in good enough shape to keep up jogging (albeit slooooowly), it's much more pleasant. I should get my bike back from its spring check-up tomorrow, so after that I can also go for bike rides, which is nice. I've gotten sort of addicted to excercise, so hopefully that keeps up. I like the feeling of continually improving a little bit, and I'm hooked on the good feeling when done. As a plus, I've also lost a bit of weight, which I can definitely afford. Here's hoping this time the habit sticks.
I've also been playing my Wii a bit, and started some fan-made maps for Portal 2 a while ago. Reading. I'd forgotten there's a new(ish) book by Umberto Eco out, so I read it and enjoyed it, among other things.
In not so pleasant activities, I caught some nasty stomach bug the beginning of last week, and spent about a day mostly unconscious, except for the times when I had to run to the bathroom. Thankfully, that was over soon, but boy was recovery slow. Long after I'd stopped being sick, my stomach was feeling slightly upset at all times, and I suppose no wonder as I hadn't been able to eat almost anything for a day, so actually receiving food again must have been a shock. Well, that's all gone now and I'm back to normal. I can still feel how I took a step backwards shape-wise when I excercise, though.
Also, it's the worst birch-season in like 20 years or so. Thankfully I'm not badly allergic and regular, prescription-free meds bite pretty well. *knocks on wood* My sister has it much worse, she can barely even go outside. She might need stronger meds. Well, hopefully the birches realize to stop blooming soon, that should make breathing easier for many.
So such is going on. Nothing too dramatic, really. Now just to hope that the computer thing sorts out soon. *crosses fingers again*

Good luck with your computer!

Thanks! Me and my friend went to the store today and apparently they had everything in stock except for reasonable graphics cards (they only had very cheap ones, which won't do the job, and super duper expensive ones, which are overkill for me), but they should have those too on Monday, so we asked the clerk to put the other stuff in store for us and we'll go see about it again on Monday. *sits tight and crosses fingers*
