Weekly simming 4/2015

Well, there's one thing I haven't done this week: played. The week was on the busy side, I had a couple of things I needed to attend, one party, plus headache problems on the days I wasn't occupied with any of those... But, I've still managed a bit of progress.

I've done a bit of writing, so I'm currently on 101 slides with chapter 41, which is 13 slides more than last week. It's chugging along, perhaps slower than I'd like, but still it's happening.

I've also been looking for pictures for the remaining part of the gen. C who's who, and that's progressing too. Only some sims are easier to find nice pictures of than others. And well, seeing that I'm thinking about reducing my playing of other families, looking at old pictures may be a mistake. :P I still haven't decided what I'll do, but am thinking about it. I think part of my problem is that I just don't have the attention span that I used to. I play a household for like a half a day, then save and while saving, go do something else and suddenly notice I've been doing that something else for much longer than intended.

Since in the old 'hood I'm kind of stuck with the sims I have anyway, I might use next rotation to try things out. I'm thinking I could try if I'd manage to do some speed-playing with the less interesting families, maybe try to take less pictures and utilize the higher speeds. If that doesn't seem to help, there's still artificial aging to try.

I fully meant to play in the weekend, but then didn't. My plan was to start building the third vacation home for the Bookacies, so they could buy it in this coming rotation. I want them to buy it before the downgrade hits, so it's about time.

So that was my idea. But then, since I've also been downloading in the evenings and managed to finish my Buy and Build Mode downloading, I suddenly realized that I'm getting there with the project of downloading everything, so that's what I've been doing instead. I've now done facial hair and makeup, and I'm currently working on my defaults. I don't have that many; the world is filled with pretty defaults, but since I play an apocalypse, I try to avoid clothing defaults, since it'd feel cheaty if my sims were to have pretty clothes despite the end of the world.

I'm not going to be done like today or anything, but I'm getting there. We'll see, I might even try to get there before I start the next rotation, so I could switch folders already. But we'll see how things go and what I'll most feel like doing at a given time.

Next week should be less busy than this week, I hope so anyway. We'll see!

I don't have much to say but keep doing what is fun and gratifying for you! And even if I don't comment, please know I always enjoy reading your posts. Just feeling a little burned out in general lately.

Well, I'll try, 'cause that's the best thing to do. :) Thank you, Lorin, I'm glad you enjoy them! I totally understand about the feeling burned out thing, it happens sometimes. It's not fun but hopefully it passes for you soon! Thanks for reading. :)

It sounds like you're making progress and having fun, and isn't that what it's all about, when you get right down to it? Keep it up! :)

Yeah, it may not be hugely much in a busy week, and it may not always be what I'd planned, but there's still progress, and it's still fun. And that's what matters. :) Thanks, Esme!
