Downloading deer

katrisims... well, technically, I don't think I've downloaded a single deer. So far. But anyway. Since I've been a bit quiet lately, I thought I'd write something about what I've been doing, sims-wise and otherwise.
I miss my game and my sims, but haven't really felt like playing. It's mostly because I'm away from home; while I do have my desktop here, my screen is at home, and the tv I'm using here has a pretty bad resolution, which annoys me when I try to play. Plus I don't have a terribly comfortable way of sitting at the desktop, either. Well laying down on my bed would technically be comfortable, but that makes me sleepy. :P
So yeah. I've mostly been downloading All the Things when I've felt like doing sims stuff. I'd say I'm pretty much done with downloading hair, clothing, hacks and getting there with buy mode stuff. So there's build mode, facial hair, accessories, hood deco and some defaults at least to go. So I think I'm doing pretty well there, seeing that I expect some of the latter categories to be smaller than the former. Of course, the reality remains to be seen. And well, with downloading, "done" is a relative concept, since cc creators are making stuff faster than I can download it, at least in the organized manner I'm trying to do it.
See, unlike before, I'm not just downloading the stuff and stuffing it somewhere. I try to have a folder structure that makes sense (to me), and for all items that physically show up in the game (basically everything but hacks), I also download a picture of the item and put it in the same folder. So should I find something breaking my game or simply decide I don't use it enough to justify keeping it, it should be much easier to recognize what it is that I do and do not want.
And on top of that, I'm compiling a resources list. For my own reference and also for posting once I'm done. I'm doing it per creator/site, since per item would take me the next eternity. My desktop says the new downloads folder has passed five gigs, so yeah, it's a bunch - already more than I currently have in the game. But, I'm getting rid of stuff I don't want, and getting more stuff that I do want, so it's a win on both counts.
My real life future is still a question mark. I won't go into details on a public post, but let's say there's something that seems promising to me, but seeing I've been disappointed in the past, I don't want to get my hopes up too much. There's the waiting, oh the waiting. So I've been trying to distract myself. With the downloading, occasionally, yes, although my biggest distraction recently has been Don't Starve Together. Fun and kind of addicting, I like it. And it feels like a good way to relax the brain after a long day at work. Of course, it's also partially contributing to me not doing that much sims stuff, but I think that'd be the case anyway at the moment.
So yeah. I think that was the long-winded way of saying what's up with me. I'm alright, and I hope you're doing alright, too!
