Weekly simming 6/2015

katrisimsThis week I've mostly still been doing stuff related to my new downloads.
First, I went through the catalogues and hunted down a few missing clothing and hair meshes. It's pretty amazing how easy it is to miss a big fat "MESH REQUIRED" even when you think you're reading carefully. Well, there were a couple of creator oopsies too, like accidentally including a recolor instead of the mesh etc. Well, I got it all sorted in the end.
Then, as quick testing showed no glaring issues with my downloads after sorting that one hack issue, I dared to go into Alphabetia armed with the new Downloads folder. The rest of my week has been spent going through the houses and checking that everyone had reasonable clothes and hair and that the house has walls, floors and reasonable looking furniture. On a couple of occasions I've gone back to hunt a missing piece of cc, too. I doubt there's ever a cc overhaul where no desired items at all go missing.
Actually, that's what I'm still doing at the moment. I'm getting towards the end of the rotation list, so it's been going fairly quickly. But there's still ways to go.
Not quite everyone has gotten their old look back, though. Especially, there have been a few hairs that I knew I was using and haven't re-downloaded, because I couldn't find them in Maxis-Match. Perhaps the most notable case is Carl, for whom I would really have wanted to find the same hair he had previously, but couldn't. So he doesn't quite look the same now. Here, have a picture:
I like the hair, though I'm not really sure if he looks like Carl anymore. And the closest replacement I had didn't go well with his large cheekbones, either. *sigh* Oh well, either I'll decide I like the new look or I'll give in and pop his old hair back in the game.
I've also done a tiny bit of writing: chapter 41 is currently at 104 slides, meaning I wrote a whopping 3 slides this week. But it's more than I wrote last week, so it's still progress!
And I've also more and more tossed around the idea of starting a BaCC. A completely unrelated and totally non-plotty BaCC, probably challenge-heavy. I'm starting to have a pretty good idea about what I want to do with it, so maybe I'll get to setting it up once I'm done with the cc hassle.
