A quick weekly simming before bed. "Quick" is pretty easy this time, as basically there hasn't been any simming this past week. It's not really surprising, with the recent burst of simming and writing. It was fun and I was happy with the results, but I suppose I need a break after that. Plus, I've been busy too, and was on the road this weekend, so there's that too.

I hope to get a little bit done next week, but I do see potential distraction in the horizon too. We'll see how it goes.

So, as I'm done with the plotty interlude I've been planning on so long, it's time for some behind the scenes and "how did I do it". If you're interested, look under the cut, but beware if you haven't read Interlude 2 yet, as it's obviously spoilery.

And here's another cut for a brief weekly simming for two weeks:

Weekly simming )

The Bookacy Family Alphabet Adventures, Interlude 2

Right on time, I made my secondary goal for SimNano! This update has been a long time coming, partially because it's Full-on Plot. If it seems somehow familiar, that's because the text is a slightly edited version of this old drabble. So yeah, I suppose it's canon now.

The picture is a link, and there are both Slideshare and Scribd versions available. As always, comments are welcome anywhere if you feel so inclined. I hope you enjoy! :)

Ta-da, finally an update! This is the finale of week 4 in Lakewood, and I'm quite pleased with the progress made within. I hope you enjoy the update, and if you feel inclined to comment, that's welcome anywhere.

As for weekly simming, well, as you can see, there's been progress. I've also worked on the Bookacy update a tiny bit, and I intend to continue on that for a bit yet before bed. The Lakewood update was my primary goal for SimNano, but with time left in the month, I'm hopeful that I might yet make my secondary goal. Fingers crossed!

I should be heading to bed, but a quick weekly simming before I forget (again).

So, the last two weeks of my vacation flew by, and I did a lot of non-sims stuff, but I've been pretty hardworking on the sims front too. I finished playing the last household of the Lakewood rotation, and I'm more than halfway through with writing it too. I think I got to Friday night time-wise in the update, so a couple of game days left to report.

As for the Bookacy side, I've started shooting the pictures I need. I'd forgotten how slow that is, with messing around with poses and omsps and canceling unwanted actions and all that. Plus it's been so long that I'm kind of rusty too. But, I've gotten I think 7 pictures so far, so there's been progress. The update was originally going to be only around 30 pictures, but as it usually is with me, it's probably going to be longer in reality. Still probably shorter than a regular Bookacy update.

So this week I need to adjust to being back to work (it's kind of nice really otherwise, but the waking up is the hard part), and there may be some evening activity, but I do intend to do sims stuff too. I've got two weeks left in SimNano, and I think it's possible to do both goals in that time if I put in some effort. Fingers crossed for a good week!

Whoops, almost forgot about Weekly simming.

I did have some progress last week, but not on the Bookacy front. I signed up for Boolprop's SimNano, and made a Lakewood update my primary goal. So I've been playing the next household, the Trollsons, and they've made it to Saturday. I also started writing today, as of the SimNano's official start, and am feeling pretty good about progress right now.

So I've got this month as a booster month and I'm hoping to get out not only the Lakewood update, but as a bonus goal, the Bookacy interlude. We'll see if I can make it, but in any case, there'll be progress. Still two weeks left in my vacation, so I'm hopeful right now.

Last week was midsummer week, so the end of the week was taken. I just got home from my parents' tonight. But, in the beginning of last week I did have some progress!

I started making some characters for the upcoming interlude, extracting a couple supporting characters while I was at it. I'm not a skilled sim maker, but I think those couple of characters I've made so far turned out quite decent.

A bunch to make still, mostly background characters. I think that's where I will continue this week. I might also start playing the next Lakewood household if I feel like it. We'll see.

Well, this is the first day of my vacation, mostly a staycation. I did get a bit of progress during the weekend, as I got around to queuing the rest of my building picspam. So that's a start.

It's currently quite warm, even hot, in here. That may not be ideal for simming, but I'm still hoping to get some progress here and there. I'm kind of undecided what to do though: on the one hand, I want to get filming that interlude finally, and on the other hand, there's an unplayed Lakewood household that's calling my name. Oh, and Boolprop is doing SimNano next month, so I'm wondering if I should join there, as the goals are personalized this year. I'm kind of tempted, but unsure what I'd do as my goal.

So yeah. I'm kind of hoping to get to simming, but unsure how things will go. I guess we'll see.

Well, it's been two weeks without progress then. First I was busy as expected, and on the road visiting friends in my old hometown. Then, when I was thinking of getting a bit of progress this past weekend, I promptly caught the flu. It seems to be passing, I was at work and everything today, but yeah, I mostly did nothing in the weekend.

This is my last week of work before my summer holiday. So maybe, if I'm not super distracted by something else, the vacation could be a good time to get some progress in. Fingers crossed!

Peeking in, a little late this time. I had a tiny bit of progress last week, as I continued queuing my picspam in the weekend. There's a good chunk of it to come, both in the queue and still to be queued.

As for real life, I got some good news last week. I got a positive decision on my application, meaning that the government will help cover the costs of my therapy. That's a relief for me financially, so now that's out of the way I can hopefully concentrate on getting better.

I don't expect a lot of progress this week: I have a long weekend coming up, but I have plans for that already. We'll see if I might squeeze in a little time somewhere, but I'm not counting on it. Maybe next week, then.

Well, a little bit of progress last week again. I managed to take a full backup, and after, I started queuing up the pictures I've taken of my newly built lots. There's currently a couple weeks worth stuff in the queue, but that's just the beginning.

So yeah, I suppose next I should continue that, plus get to making those characters. We'll see about that this week, don't know yet about energy levels and so.
katrisims: (Default)
A little bit of simming progress last week too. I didn't start actually making characters or filming, but I did package the lots I've been making, and took some pictures while I was at it. I suppose I could queue the pictures up, the risk of spoiling stuff should be pretty small. Though right now I'm too sleepy.

Anyway, I think a backup would be in order, and then I could get to filming. I hope to find the time and energy soon, it's been a long time coming.

Whoopsie, I forgot about weekly simming. But, I do have a bit of progress to report. I had a couple of build sessions during my long weekend, and with that, I finished (I think) the lot makeover that I had ongoing. If I haven't overlooked something, that means next I could get to making a few characters for my interlude, and then, start filming. Wow, it's been so long, we'll see if I can still do it!

So yeah, even if progress is slow, it still happens occasionally. We'll see if I might have some more time and energy this weekend or so, to try my hand at filming again. Oh yeah, and I should actually package those houses, and probably take some pictures too, to share. Well, we'll see when that happens, but eventually.
katrisims: (Default)
Again, no progress the past week. I was too busy and too distracted. Fortunately, I've been feeling a bit better about the real life stuff (not mine), largely thanks to my therapist I think. So that's good.

As for the upcoming week, well, on the one hand it's Vappu on Wednesday and while I'm not a student anymore, it seems I've got board game plans instead of party plans like I did in the past. On the other hand, I've got Thursday and Friday off, with a couple of well-placed vacation days. Maybe that might inspire me to sim?
katrisims: (Default)
Checking in again. I was right about Easter week, I was pretty busy so progress didn't happen. I had my pre-arranging work with me on the road, but in the end I didn't do anything about it. I've also needed some distraction lately (worrying about something irl that's not my business to share), and I suppose Zelda has been working best for that.

I dunno about this week, I see some distraction ahead and stuff I should do. We'll see if I might come around to simming on the side.
katrisims: (Default)
To finally break that streak of non-simming, I had a bit of progress just today! To continue my set-building, I started making over a premade lot. I hope I'll be able to use that both for plot and for playing later on. Actually, I should do some more of the same kind for playing purposes, to have a nicer uni for my students in the upcoming new version of Alphabetia. I'm still ways off from finishing the lot, but the exterior is shaping up I think.

I'm still kind of distracted, on a Zelda kick that just won't end. I... may have started a new game almost immediately after completing the last, it's just so addictive. I may need an intervention. :P This time, I'm dreaming of doing *everything*. We'll see if that holds, and if I might get bored. But if so, I have the permission to get bored and do something else.

As for real life, it seems I have the therapy thing settled now, getting into a routine with it next. I just hope everything goes well with the paperwork side, I think this'll be good for me.

I don't expect big progress next week, as it's Easter week, but maybe I'll get a little bit in. We'll see.
katrisims: (Default)
I know this is getting repetitive, but no progress this week. I've been busy and distracted, so I haven't done any simming. But, I did the paperwork, so next I'll be contacting my therapist to get started. I still need to make sure everything's good with the paperwork though. I'm also on the final stretch with Zelda again, so maybe once I've gotten this therapy thing into my routine and finished Zelda, I could look into simming matters again.
katrisims: (Default)
Still late, still on my ex tempore break, or well, just being distracted. I suppose I prefer "taking a break". ;) Anyway, real life has been kind of busy, so that has come first. I should be able to complete the therapy paperwork this week, tomorrow hopefully, so that's nice. Then I can hopefully get started with that.

Anyway, I'm still hooked on Zelda and relaxing my head with that. But maybe, just maybe, I may get the spark to get back to my sims sometime soon.
katrisims: (Default)
Whoops, late again, but checking in. Still on my ex tempore break, currently sims are taking the back seat as I handle real life stuff and relax my head with Zelda. I've got a therapist now, so now there's some starting paperwork to do and then we can get started. Things are looking positive there, so that's nice.

So yeah, nothing much to report in simming at the moment, but we'll see how stuff goes. I'll check back in about a week.
katrisims: (Default)
It turns out there's nothing to report this week, either. I've been running errands in the evening, and in the weekend I was on the road by surprise. When I've had the time, I've been playing Zelda. Still enjoying that, so that's all good.

On the real life side of things, my doctor and I concluded that the meds are working, so I'll go on with those as before. I'm now also looking for a therapist, a little nervous about that, but I think overall this'll be good for me.

We'll see how busy next week ends up being. I might also still be hooked on Zelda, so no promises about progress. I'm sure I'll get back to things sooner or later.
