This week was perhaps slightly less productive than the last, but there was progress in any case. During the weekend, I finally managed to fix the remaining two Lakewood updates, so that series is now back up and running.
I was feeling productive today, so I also started on fixing the Bookacy download archive, too. I decided that while I'm fixing the pictures, I might as well fix the links, as I've been hearing complaints about Box links. So I re-uploaded the archive to Sims File Share, which was actually quite easy, as I still have all the files and even the rar archives on my machine. The pictures were a bit more of a pain, as I'd apparently misplaced some of the originals. So I had to go to Photobucket and download them. Fortunately my adblocker did a fine job and I didn't have to suffer with the ads I've been hearing about.
Anyway, the download archive is still under reconstruction, but it seems that it's not going to be as much work as I feared. And in the end I'll have a working download archive, which I can then make up to date while I rebuild, which is nice.
I also wrote a little bit on the side, not much but a little bit. The next Bookacy update is now on 95 slides, and I've been able to cut out some unnecessary images. Now I only need to take it to the end trying to avoid choppiness and extraneous babble both. We'll see, but I'm starting to believe I'll get there. :)

Date: Mar. 29th, 2018 04:48 am (UTC)In my case, I should still have all my pictures on my computer too, or at least I haven't destroyed any on purpose. I only needed a pretty small amount of pictures, so in the end, I downloaded them one by one, as that still seems to work, mostly (some I had to download a couple of times, as they somehow corrupted on the way). I was actually kind of worried about even logging in, but it seems that my adblocker did a good job on keeping the shady stuff at bay.
Of course, if you need to download a lot of pictures, that's a really painful way to do it. :( I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help, I hope you find a good way to recover your pictures!
