Bonitas Wants, Hurdle 2

Hello, and welcome back to Bonita's Wants! It's a Great Boolprop Olympic Challenge that I started for Boolprop's Summer Sim Challenge, and it aims to score 100 Wants for our foundress Bonita Curious.

Last time, Bonita got started and established a little home for herself, met some new sims as well as a potential romantic interest, and scored the first 25 wants. Now we're moving on to the second hurdle, the next 25 Wants.





We got started on that right away. Bonita has work today, but after taking care of her needs, she had just enough time to look for some birds.

Want #26: Birdwatch.



Last time, Bonita utilized the autumn skilling bonus and sharpened her skills, as that gained her lots of Wants, but it also benefited her career. Bonita went to work in a good mood and came home with a promotion.


After work, she amused herself with some, err, interesting cooking shows on tv.




While she was at it, she of course learned something.

Want #27: Gain a Skill Point.



After her mac and cheese dinner, Bonita noticed a young girl on her porch, reading her newspaper. She went on to greet her, just to have a bit of company.





They watched some tv and had a bit of a chat, after which Bonita sent the kid home.




Bonita had a little bit of stargazing to do before bed yet.

Want #28: Stargaze with Telescope.



The next morning, Bonita wasn't in a hurry as she had the day off. So she could just sit down and enjoy her breakfast.



That didn't mean she didn't have any plans, though.

Bonita: "Hi, it's Bonita. I was wondering if you wanted to come over today?"


Brenda did want to come over, and she asked to bring a friend. We said sure, and found out her friend was one of the new townies, Arcadia.


They all watched some tv together, to get to know each other a bit. After that, though, Bonita said goodbye to Arcadia. She needed time with just Brenda.


Well, it didn't start out great. I suppose this is just bound to happen, especially when you're hoping things go great.



But they started to go better. For starters, we asked about Brenda's work and found out that she's actually quite high in her career.



They also found a topic to agree on: kissing.



At that point, I decided to go for it and had Bonita ask Brenda on a date. Dates are good for both upping relationships and for scoring Wants. Actually, they're so good in the latter that it felt almost like cheating in this challenge. But nothing forbidding it in the rules, so hey. Bring on the Wants!





Want #29: Talk to Brenda.





Want #30: Tickle Brenda.


Of course, we also did some things that Brenda wanted, such as getting a backrub from Bonita.





Want #31: Hug Brenda.





Want #32: Entertain Brenda.





Then things started to turn a bit more romantic for them.

Want #33: Flirt with Brenda.



Things were progressing fast. That one flirt made them have a crush on each other.





At this point, I needed to go buy a stereo for them so they could dance. Fortunately Bonita could afford it quite nicely.

Want #34: Classic Dance with Brenda.



Brenda wanted some more flirting, and Bonita was happy to oblige.




Then it was back to what Bonita wanted, although Brenda didn't mind the backrub in the slightest.

Want #35: Give Backrub to Brenda.





Their first kiss ended up being a slightly silly dramatic one, as it was autonomous. Still, I caught the screenshots!

Want #36: Kiss Brenda.



More autonomous kissing was in order.




Want #37: Hug Brenda.




Better make sure that Brenda isn't having shoulder ache.

Want #38: Give Backrub to Brenda.



I'd kind of forgotten how good dates are for boosting a relationship, I suppose because I mostly play dates between established couples. The two of them made best friends.





After which they promptly caught me off guard, so I missed the beforehand picture of Bonita wanting to make out. But fortunately the points and doodahs are proof enough.

Want #39: Make Out with Brenda.





Want #40: Flirt with Brenda.



Another want happened that caught me off guard, that tends to happen on dates I suppose.

Want #41: Hug Brenda.



At this point, Brenda was in love. More proof of the power of dates.


It was getting late, so we ended the date. Of course, it was a Dream Date, and Bonita was on cloud nine.



And just as the date ended, she was in love too. Aww.



Her solitary evening meal wasn't too bad, as she knew it wouldn't be solitary that much longer.



Late in the evening, Brenda yet showed up to deliver a date bouquet. Thanks, Brenda, it's very nice.



Morning, Bonita. Did you sleep well?

Bonita: "Like a log. What's on the agenda today?"

Well, you have work today, but I think we can work on some Wants too. What's in your Want Panel?

Bonita: "Well, I'd very much want to Get Engaged to Brenda."

*locks want* I think we can do that.





But that will have to wait a bit. Before work, let's get your needs in shape, and then you can do something relaxing for a bit.

Want #42: Birdwatch.



That afternoon, Bonita came home from work to light snow on the ground. She also got a promotion, level five already! Well done Bonita!

Bonita: "Thanks. It feels nice to be doing this well."

I bet. Now, if you aren't all exhausted, let's call Brenda over.

Bonita: "Never too tired for Brenda!"



So Bonita called Brenda over, and when she arrived, she was greeted quite enthusiastically.




After a bit of autonomous flirting on the yard, Bonita asked Brenda to move in, and she accepted.


She had a good amount of money, too. Nice, now we won't have to worry about upgrading the house when we need to.





Brenda got to take care of her needs while Bonita cooked for the two of them.



Their first meal living together was spaghetti. I'm still careful about what I let Bonita cook, but she didn't burn the house down.


Brenda still needed a shower, so Bonita headed out to look for some clothes for her. The local clothing store had an... interesting color scheme, but it functioned well enough.


When Bonita got home, Brenda got a makeover. I think she turned out really cute!

Brenda is a Knowledge sim with the LTW to become Head of SCIA. She's a 5/3/7/3/7 Pisces, bi, her turn ons are Stink and Good at Cleaning and her turn off is Creative. Her OTH is Tinkering. Welcome to the family, Brenda!





Yet that same night, it was time to get to that big Want locked in two Want Panels. So Bonita got down on one knee and proposed.





Brenda's answer was an enthusiastic yes.




Only Bonita's Wants count in this challenge, but I love mutual engagement Wants!

Want #43: Get Engaged to Brenda.





The first night as a newly engaged couple was spent together in front of the tv. Or well, in Brenda's case, technically behind the tv for some bizarre reason.





Brenda had a Want with a demented purple heart on it and Bonita's face on top. So, even if this is not Brenda's challenge technically, Bonita was happy to oblige. So demented purple hearts it was.





The next morning started with some cuddles, which are one of my favorite things to see in the game. And then, it was time to have some breakfast together.





Before work, Bonita had ample time for another Want.

Want #44: Birdwatch.



She had to make a sprint for the carpool, another working day ahead.




Brenda had the day off, so she spent it mostly working on her charisma, and on the phone. She has some friends from her time as a townie, so she caught up with them.



In the afternoon, Bonita came home. No promotion this time, but that's ok, we've got time. Back to work on some Wants again, and apparently there was a recurring Want in Bonita's Want Panel. I hesitated before, but hey, it's all about Wants isn't it?




Bonita has rolled the Want for a womrat (well, technically just the cage but I take it to mean she wants a little buddy living in it) a couple times before. Even with the hack that should prevent the little animals from dying too easily, I'm not that great taking care of them. But a Want is a Want, and Bonita is getting hers.

Want #45: Buy a Womrat Cage.


Here's the little buddy, who got named Benny. He's way cute, and I hope I can take care of him.


Evening came, and Brenda got to cook dinner.




Meanwhile, Bonita studied some cooking from a book, and gained a skill point for it too. She always likes skill points.

Want #46: Gain a Skill Point.



After dinner, Brenda got to be a handiwoman and fix the broken shower. While she was at it, she confirmed that her OTH is Tinkering.





Bonita got to go back to her favorite hobby as well, after a bit of a break.

Want #47: Stargaze with Telescope.





The rest of the evening was spent skilling, as well as playing with Benny.


Another day, and Bonita needs to head to work again, with Brenda on the brain apparently. Tomorrow both of them have the day off, so I think that's a good time for the wedding.


Before that, Brenda had another quiet day at home before her. She's on level 9 in the Athletic career, so she has several days off in a row.




She spent it pretty much like the day before, skilling and on the phone. Apparently she won't be on level 9 much longer, as one of her friends can pull some strings to get her promoted!


Bonita didn't need any strings pulled, she got her next promotion the old-fashioned way. Well done Bonita!

Bonita: "Thanks! So now to just get ready for the wedding, then."

Yeah, that's the plan. Do you want a party?

Bonita: "I don't think so, not really. I'm not terrified of the idea, but if Brenda doesn't particularly want a party, I think the two of us will be enough."

Ok, I think Brenda briefly wanted one but changed her mind. Let's say just nice clothes and some cake for the two of you then.





While Brenda cooked, Bonita worked on her skills, and her Wants, again.

Want #48: Reach Cooking Level 5.


Then it was dinnertime, complete with burgers made by Brenda, and wedding outfit discussions.




Yet in the evening, there was time to do some skilling at the telescope.

Want #49: Reach Logic Level 5.



The next day was a day off for both Bonita and Brenda, so we took the morning easy. Benny's cage needed some cleaning, so Bonita got to it.


Meanwhile, Brenda made some breakfast, and it was enjoyed in peace.




Then it was time to take care of needs, and to amuse oneself while your partner was doing the same. This involved some skilling as well as playing with Benny.


Time for the big day: the wedding and at that, Bonita's 50^th Want. There was no party, but we put on fancy clothes and put the wedding arch in the living room to make it more festive.







The ceremony was beautiful.




And yes, mutual Wants for getting married were involved, which was awesome.

Want #50: Get married to Brenda.



As the newlyweds are enjoying their wedding cake, I think it's a good time to wrap this update up. Lots of progress was had again, and in fact we're now halfway through the challenge if we want to go for the full 100! So we're still on track for making it within the time limit.

The score is still simple:

+25 for the first hurdle
+50 for the second hurdle

Total: 75 points
