Okay, so I'm a little late with this, but I thought I could try to make a few resolutions for myself. *must... jump... bandwagon...* If for no other reason, then so I can point and laugh at myself in the next turn of the year.

1. Meet generation D. I'll start off with one that should be quite easy. I'm currently in the process of accomodating and making over the main bunch of generation C, and two sims are already pregnant. I'm certainly very disappointed if I don't make this one. :)

2. Conclude generation C's plot arch. This is something I've waited for a long time, and I'm eager to get to it. It still continues over several chapters, but should be well doable, barring any disasters.

3. Meet generation E. I know this may be rather far-fetched already, and may turn out one of those point and laugh things in the end. In fact, I think I already stated both 1 and 3 in the end of 2009 as something I'd like to do in 2010, and failed at both. Well, nothing to do about that other that point and laugh. *points and laughs* I could have actually made number 1, had my hard drive decided to want replacing towards the end of the year.

4. Make a proper download archive of the Bookacies. This is something I've wanted to do for a while, but decided to wait until my generation C sims are adults and I know what they'll look like. I want a proper download thread with up to date info and nice pictures. I should also try to get clean versions without cc in case someone wants their sims like that. First I need to learn how to do that, though... We'll see how far I get in this one.

5. Be done with the photo recolor project. I've been recently quite inactive with the photo recolors I've been wanting to do to hang on the walls around Alphabetia. There are a lot of pictures to take and a lot of frames to select, again, we'll see how far I get.

6. Try to be active. This is a bit more vague than the others. What I mean by that is just about anything and everything. Read some (more) legacies, comment on them. Try to remember to say so if you like something. Try to participate in sim_scenes or simspiration, or both. It may not all always be possible, but do try to participate once in a while.

Alright, I think that's enough. I may need to point and laugh at myself later, but there's no need to set myself up for total embarassment, I hope. :)

Looks like a great list! I look forward to seeing what you do with the Bookacies :)

Thanks, I'm looking forward to all of this too. :)

By the way, it just crossed my mind that you'd probably know about this, relating to number 4... When extracting sims, how should I go about to make sure that a sim is clean from cc (and expansion info, if possible) if you don't mind me asking? So far I've just used the extract function in SimPE and happily put the sim for download, which may not the smartest way. :) I suspect that there's a solution that uses Any Game Starter, but I'm running Windows 7 and I've heard AGS wouldn't like that. Can I do it otherwise? Also, when packaging cc versions of sims, does it matter if I use BodyShop or Clean Installer (I think that can also do it)?

Oops, what was supposed to be one question turned into many, sorry about that. :) I'm such a newbie really with these...

I don't use AGS as it doesn't really play nice with Vista either.

My method is to extract to first extract the sims from my game, I then run them through CAS in a clean hood with no CC and dress them in base game clothing and hair, I then extract the 'clean' versions from the new hood and distribute those .package files. For sims I wish to include CC with I run the clean versions through bodyshop for dressing and packaging.

Ah, so no need for things that probably work for me, good good. :)

Just to clarify on the clean hood with no cc: do you pull out your Downloads folder when doing the planting to clean hood and re-extracting, or just make sure you don't put anything with cc in that hood? And if I just make sure the sim is wearing base game content only, then I won't get any expansion pack data with the sim?

* that probably don't work for me, was what I meant of course :)

I pull my downloads folder. As long as their body shop content is base game only then there's no expansion data. Body shop content really doesn't effect .package files but it's best to have them in base game so that the sims aren't missing anything and so that they won't be linked to non existent files. Pescado would probably say that the files still aren't clean, but they are as clean as I can get them. I do always recommend that anyone downloading .package files always run them through body shop and re-clone.

Alright, so maybe not quite Pescado-clean but regular clean anyway, that should be enough I suppose. :)

Thank you so much for your help, now I feel much better prepared when I get on the extraction and upload project! :)
