Is this bad?
Jul. 30th, 2011 10:03 pmHey there, 's me again. I'm a bit worried for my game at the moment and thought I'd consult my f-list.
You see, I was playing Calista and Joshua right now and was getting ready for them to tie the knot. Only, when I had Joshua propose, this was the result:

This, naturally, should not be what these two think about getting engaged, Joshua is fortune and Calista is popularity. I exited without saving and tried several times, always with the same result. Now, I had the same thing happen earlier as I mentioned in a picspam, but thought it was maybe just a minor hiccup and let it pass. However, if it starts happening more it's not very nice...
I know there's been an FT bug that caused things like this, but it was supposedly fixed in a patch, and my game and all expansions are patched. There was also a fix by twojeffs, and it was said to be a critical one, but it was declared obsolete after the patch came out.
So I was wondering, does anyone happen to know what's going on? Is this a sign of impending doom? Should I be worried about my 'hood? Nothing else suspicious so far... *knocks on wood* Luckily I have kept pretty good backups, the most recent one is from yesterday, and I have been extracting me simmies for the download archive anyway. It's just that half the hood is pregnant right now, and there are babies around. So I would really hope that the hood doesn't go boom right now, as it'd suck to lose the kids...
Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

Date: Jul. 30th, 2011 07:28 pm (UTC)PS: Thank you for mentioning in an earlier post that autoyak was only working on cell phones for you. I thought it just didn't work period, but it turns out that it does work with cell phones. Hooray!

Date: Jul. 30th, 2011 07:57 pm (UTC)Just one stupid question though: would you happen to know what "ft fix" he's put this bugfix in? The only thing I can seem to find in the Pescado hack directory (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/al/hacks/) is "ftminifixes", but at least the description doesn't mention a bug like this being fixed. Maybe I'm being blind...
Oh, you're welcome, glad I could - though unwittingly - be of help. :) I don't know if it's supposed to be that way, but that's how it works for me too. And I think autoyak also prevents answering a ringing cell phone (only the call friends etc. options show up), which is slightly annoying but survivable, as a regular phone can still be answered.

Date: Jul. 30th, 2011 08:20 pm (UTC)And I also found a thread where Pescado himself said that something not described in there was fixed in "ftminifixes": http://hideki.modthesims.info/download.php?t=290523&c=1&ht=0&page=9&pp=25
So I would guess that there are other unadvertised little fixes in that package, and that engagement memories are one of them. I would tend to think that if Pescado didn't even bother to specifically mention the fix, it's not something that will set you on the path of Exploding Neighborhoods.
Sorry for the gigantic links - I don't know how to make them tidy on LJ. :(

Date: Jul. 30th, 2011 08:35 pm (UTC)Yeah, that is the same description I read. Well, maybe it includes more than it says then. I think I'll give that one a try and see if it helps. If not, well, then I suppose I'll have to live with it and hope it doesn't lead to Exploding Neighborhoods. But I'd tend to agree, if it's not important enough to even mention in a hack description (preferably with "ATTENTION! CRITICAL FIX!" with huge flashing letters), then it's probably not terribly lethal.
Thanks once again for the help! I'm a much happier simmer right now. ^^
