Prompt: Inappropriate flirting (docnerd)
Words: 860
Universe: not official canon, but this basically did happen in my game, shortly after Cho returned from college
Warnings: Silliness
Okay, this one's just plain silly. You might remember something like this happening at some point. That'd be because it did, I just didn't include it in a chapter. I talked about it towards the end of this picspam. Anyway, silliness ahoy!
Cho was on a date. One of her many dates. She was finally getting close to having those 20 loves she had wanted since she was a teenager. The guy was called Peter, and he was pretty cute. They'd known each other for a while, and Cho counted him in the friend territory. The restaurant was upscale and nice too, so this promised to be a good date.
They were looking at the menus to decide what to order, when Cho saw something out of the corner of her eye. Was that...? Oh crap, it was. Vasyl Hamilton. Did he have to pick tonight to come to the restaurant? Vasyl was one of her boyfriends, who had accidentally caught her on a date with another guy. Any terrible disasters had been avoided due to quick thinking on her part and avoiding confrontation, but it didn't mean he wasn't furious with her. Cho had a feeling that this wasn't going to end well.
At this point, though, there was nothing she could do, so she curtly nodded at Vasyl, smiled at Peter and decided to eat salmon. After a moment or two, Peter decided that he wanted Salmon too, and they ordered.
Everything seemed to go smoothly, as conversation flowed for Peter and Cho, and apparently Vasyl was paying no attention to them, being occupied playing darts in a corner. Cho started to relax. Maybe this was going to go well. The waiter came with the salmon, and it looked delicious. Cho wished Peter "bon appetit" and loaded her fork with some freshly cooked salmon. Peter managed to drop his napkin on the floor, apologized and disappeared under the table. Cho didn't pay mind to that but concentrated on her meal. As Peter emerged back to the table, she suddenly heard him exclaim: "Hey! Where's my salmon?"
Cho turned to look at Peter, and indeed, he was utterly salmon-less. They both had looked away for a couple of seconds only, what on Earth could have happened? Cho looked around, and suddenly noticed Vasyl, who was walking towards an empty table with a plateful of salmon that Cho hadn't seen him order. She couldn't believe her eyes. Did he just do what she thought he did? "Hey, did that guy order salmon, too?" asked Peter, following Cho's gaze. "I don't know", said Cho.
There was nothing they could do, since how would they prove that it was Vasyl who had taken the salmon? Cho offered poor Peter to share her portion, but he politely declined, claiming he'd be fine if he got some dessert. While Cho was eating, she noticed out of the corner of her eye how Vasyl walked to his chosen table, sat down and lifted his fork. She felt irritated and looked away. When she next looked in his direction, she was surprised to notice that he was no longer there, but instead, she saw a waiter who was clearly offering the table to a couple who had clearly just arrived, and the salmon left on the table, apparently untouched. She smiled to herself when she saw Vasyl a short distance away, shooting dirty looks at the waiter.
The rest of the dinner went by uneventfully. They ordered cake and nobody thankfully came by to take it away. Perhaps it was because Peter looked like he might stick a fork into any hand that might be getting too close to his portion. Cho was just getting up from her table and was about to ask Peter whether he'd like to throw some darts or something, when she saw a black-haired young woman approaching them.
Apparently the woman knew Peter, as Cho certainly didn't know who she was. True enough, she went straight to him. Cho flexed her legs and waited. "Oh, hey, Peter, so good to see you!" said the woman warmly. "How are you doing?"
"Oh, not too bad", said Peter, smiling. "And you?"
"Great, just great", she replied. "Hey listen, are you free? If you want, we could go somewhere... more private and have a fun evening", she said. And to Cho's utter amazement, she lifted her hand and caressed Peter's cheek.
Peter smiled. "Oh I'm sorry, babe, but not tonight. I'm kind of in the middle of something here right now. But if you're free next week, give me a call okay?"
"Sure thing", the woman said, gave Peter's hand a quick squeeze and went her way. Peter turned his attention back to Cho. "Sorry for the interruption", he said. "Now, where were we?"
Cho walked to Peter and took his hands. "Well actually, I was just going to ask you whether you'd like to throw some darts or something. But perhaps you'd prefer 'somewhere more... private'", she said teasingly. Then she raised an eyebrow and asked, rather amused than in any way hurt: "Didn't you find that in the least bit inappropriate?"
Peter smiled back. He threw a sideways glance at Vasyl, who was just passing by them, finger-gunned Cho and called: "Vaddi bobo!". He turned to look at Cho again, and shot back "You're one to talk", while Cho wrapped her arms around him.
