Picspam and stuff

*peeks in* So I haven't posted for the past... over two months? Oops. Let me ramble about that a bit, but first, let's have some picspam. On my Tumblr as usual. Entry by entry:

Oh, and I've again updated the teen crew post. We have four new teens, and the total is now 19.


So, why have I been so quiet? Well, real life has been kind of busy, and I have been simming and writing, although veeeeery slooooowly. Let's see. I've traveled, twice; once for work and once for leisure. I've been ill, twice. I just got rid of a summer flu during this week. I've been doing my usual work - although not as hellish as it was in the winter, it still takes a lot of time - and have tried to stick to exercising, whenever being ill and whatnot hasn't stood in the way.

In the way of work, there are a couple of nice things right now. One: VACATION! Starting yesterday evening. I so, so need the time off. Two: just two days ago, I finished the first draft of my PhD thesis, and gave it to my advisors to read and comment. So it looks like at some point it'll actually happen, I'll graduate (and with that, be that much less employable, but I try not to think about that :P ). Even with my current doubts about things work-wise, it does feel like something.

So yeah. I'm still getting used to the idea of being on vacation, but I'm glad to have the time off. It means I'll be again absent for some time, but then I should be actually more present. I hope to get some simming stuff done during my time off. I'm currently on something like 34 pages of the Apocalypse chapter I've been writing, it may or then again may not be realistic to hope to get it done during the vacation. I'm going to hope in any case. After all, my plan was to get four chapters out during this year, and so far I've only gotten one... Well, best try to work on it then!

Anyway, that's what's been up with me lately. Now, off to do some vacation-y things!

I like the picspam; it's a good way to keep up with the other families without taking away from the plot of the main story. (And I'm glad there were no professors involved! ;P)

Thanks. :) Yeah, at this point the extended family is just too large for me to handle in the updates anymore, but I still want to show some pictures since I do play them. I think it's working nicely. (Yup, best for all kinds of professors to stay uninvolved at this point! ;) )

The Phillips kids are especially pretty/adorable :3
It is really nice to just see sims being happy families sometimes ^.^

I hope that format isn't difficult to do? I'm strongly considering doing this for my spare OWBC families, if not the main OWBC and apoc family too X)

Those three are pretty cute, I suppose Bobby and Mehrissa's genes do that. I do enjoy the happy, peaceful families sometimes, without any of the main house legacy drama. Well occasionally they invent their own drama, but that's small in comparison. :P

Well, personally I've found picspamming much easier this way than posting it on LJ. On Tumblr, I can just directly select the pictures from my screenshot folder and write a caption without any of the resize-and-post-to-photobucket-and-get-links hassle. I've been much more eager to picspam since I changed styles. :)

Yay for finishing the first draft of your PhD thesis! That sure is an achievement, isn't it? :D

Vacations are definitely nice breaks from life in general. In fact, it's an opportunity to go to new, exotic places. My family's planning one to Korea on early August, and I'm eager to go there.

I'll be waiting patiently for your Apoc update to show up as soon as possible. Good luck with that!

Yep, I'm pretty happy about that. :) Now to see then what my advisors think of it.

Vacations are good. *nods* And I enjoy the opportunity to travel, too (just returned from the Dominican Republic a couple of days ago, it was a lot of fun). Glad to hear you get to go to Korea, I hope you have a great time there!
