Wow, bandwagons are tempting! This particular one has been calling my name for a while, so I gave in and jumped.

So, you're reading the very first entry of The Bookacy Family Alphabet Journal, the LJ for all my simming needs. Mostly the Bookacy family will be the topic of my ramblings, but it may well be that I throw in other sim stuff or some RL every now and then. Who knows.

So, what's up simming wise? Well, I've been on X-mas break from simming, just returned from my parents' yesterday. Today I've been setting up my journal - and I had to do a small photoshoot for the shiny new avatars. In case you're wondering, yeah, that is my simself, she's gotten a makeover. I got glasses in August myself, and I started feeling sorry for the poor thing that probably couldn't see a thing. So she recently got a makeover with glasses. (The glasses aren't exactly like mine, but they were the closest thing in game. I haven't seen my model exactly even in cc.)

Otherwise, there are no simming news from me since before X-mas. My next project is to write chapter 20, and I'm trying out a rotation system, before the legacy 'hood drives me crazy. And yes, I think my plot ideas are finally clearing up a bit. During this first rotation, I will have some plottiness to shoot... All that might not happen very fast, though. I have an important deadline coming at work, so we'll see what that does to my simming time.

Oh oh. I forgot something! I got FT for X-mas, and I'm pretty excited! I decided to wait with the installing though, with the deadline coming and all. Plus I have pretty good prospects of getting Seasons soonish, so installing two at once would save me some work. I'll also have to figure out how to install out of order and still not be infected by SecuRom. I've avoided it so far, so I'm not having it now... Anyway, secondary aspirations, summoning aliens and all kinds of fun should be on its way!

So yeah. As you can see, the rambling has already started. What I'm planning to put here in the future is pretty typical stuff: picspam, behind the scenes, possibly recaps and other extras. And whatever pops into my head, I guess.

For now, that's it I guess. Welcome to The Bookacy Family Alphabet Adventures, make yourself at home. Oh, and Happy New Year, now that I'm at it!

Thanks. =) I've been wanting to join for a while, but now I somehow got myself to do it at last.

Thanks for the help offer as well. What is my main concern is that I now already have AL installed, so I'm not sure if installing out of order affects the procedure or not. Also, do you happen to know, if I install out of order like this, do I patch or not? I think with earlier expansions it was that the next EP included the fixes for the previous ones, but with the latest ones I'm not sure, especially as they've had to fix the patches so much...

So if've got it figured correct, I should just install and patch as normal (remembering to take backups and so at first of course), then after that get the no-cd crack for FT and rename the exe, just in case. I don't know if it's necessary, as I'll be using the AL shortcut anyway, and that is already pointing to the newest no-cd.

Anyway, fun to see you here on LJ, too! =)

Installing out of order shouldn't affect anything. You don't even need to download another crack since you'll still be using the AL one. Just install and play. Definitely patch, though. I'm fairly sure that the EPs don't carry previous patches.

So installing out of order actually makes it easier, who would have thought that... =) Yeah, I was also thinking patching would not hurt in any case. And even if the fixes were included in AL, it might be that they would get overridden or something. I remember reading from one of the maxoids' blogs that they used to have the patches in the next EPs in the beginning. But the patches have become bigger and have needed fixing lately, so that's probably not the case with these newer EPs.

Anyway, thanks, Lea! That's one thing I don't have to worry about when I get to install. =)
