Prompt: Tomorrow is another day (esmeiolanthe)
Words: 273
Universe: canon Strangetown, during chapter 1
Warnings: none

Yet more Strangetown. And look, I managed not to write a novel, too. Yay?

Salahuddin put away his tools, and looked at the car in slight frustration. Still not finished, but it was getting too dark to work on it safely. Besides, he needed sleep, as tomorrow was a working day again. So he glanced once more longingly at the car, and climbed up the stairs to his apartment. He wanted to protect the car somehow, but there was nothing to do except hope no one would want to steal it. Salahuddin didn't want to lose an almost finished car again.

He climbed upstairs, where it was at least somewhat warmer than outside. He still had to head for the balcony to wash the grease off himself and his clothes the best he could.

Despite still not being finished, Salahuddin could be content with everything he had managed to do that day, he thought. He had been to work, as always. He had worked on his novel and eaten his rationed portion of food, as always. He had been hopeful and tried to use the phone, to reach Bim or one of his friends from all around Strangetown, but the lines had been dead, as they were always – except on Tuesdays. And in the evening, he had spent several hours on the car, slowly getting it from a complete junk into a functional vechile, except not quite being there yet. As always.

Salahuddin closed the balcony door behind him as tightly as he could, and changed into his pajamas. Well, tomorrow is another day, he thought as he slipped under the covers, ready to pass out from exhaustion. Another day, only exactly the same as today.

And I'm quite surprised, this one makes it into a Myshuno for me - on time! Proof:

Congratulations on making Myshuno! *\o/*

And I like what you did with this prompt too. Apocalypses are pretty repetitive when you're in them, aren't they?

I enjoyed this! :D

(And I think I'm behind on a story or two, so I'm going to catch up now.)

Thanks! :) I'm actually pretty surprised that I made it, since the beginning was a little hard. Maybe I'm in some kind of a Sal-mode where writing about him is easier.

Oh yeah, the beginning at least is quite repetitive for the sim(s). I noticed that when writing the first chapter, I had to get creative on how to make it seem less repetitive than it was for Sal, since that much repetition gets boring. I mentioned it in the story itself (real!Sal is reminded of Groundhog Day when thinking about his dreams, hence the name of this piece), but this gave me a chance to play with it a bit more. :)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed!

I like that you're writing about Sal. Even though I haven't read your other stories, the continuity with Sal helps me understand what's going on. :)

Thanks. :) Sal has indeed turned out to be an interesting character, and he's fun to write!
