Gameplay babble

I've gotten to play some lately, which feels pretty nice! :) So I thought I'd babble on for a bit, just for the sake of it.
I've started the first college rotation of generation D. It's funny how excited I am to be playing college again, it's been ages. And yet I know that I'll have had quite enough of it when I get to the point of graduation. Or more likely, I'll be completely sick of it. :P
I've played through Dirk's first year of college, and that gives me such a nice sense of progress! Nothing terribly exciting has happened, but I'm enjoying it anyway, and I like the anticipation of spouse-hunting and so. I have at least a couple of alternatives in mind, I'm curious to see how those might work out. *is excited*
I've also played the apocalypse forward a bit. That's a lot more intense, and all the time I fear I'll fail it. I can be all exhausted after like a half a day! :P But well, no disasters so far. *knocks on wood* The very beginning isn't actually terribly hard, since there's only one sim to take care of, but especially after having kids it's pretty hectic! Well, slowly, slowly.
I'd apparently had some kind of a reset in Strangetown, which had destroyed the spoiled food we had stored on the roof. Nice. So I counted how much we had, and allowed Sal to make (roughly) the same amount of food regardless of restrictions, since losing the spoiled reserve might be what fails the challenge for the family, so I considered it a bug fix and thus fair. The family aren't allowed to eat any of that food before it's spoiled again, like the old food was.
Also, note to self: Pescado's noeatcrap is a nice hack, but in an apocalypse it's, eh, somewhat problematic if sims won't eat spoiled food, even if you tell them to. Not sure what to do about that yet, but I don't think keeping the hack in while playing the apocalypse is an option in the long run.
I've also progressed a bit chapter-wise. I've written some of the next apocalypse chapter, though I'm a bit stuck there right now. But, I also have pictures for a Bookacy update, so I've started pre-arranging that on the side. I'm telling myself no stress or deadlines on either, they get done when they get done, and the most important thing is to have fun.

Yeah, noeatcrap noisgood for the Apocalypse, they're supposed to eat crap, in fact everything is supposed to be crap at the beginning of an Apocalypse! Food poisoning just seems to be one of the most realistic aspects of one...

Yeah, I don't think it's an option to keep the hack in while playing the apocalypse, they just need to be able to eat the spoiled food. I like it for other families though, so we'll see if I end up taking it out entirely or swapping it in and back out for the apocalypse.
