Well, another year has gone by, and it's time to have a look at how things went and make some plans for the future.
I think 2015 has a actually been the first year that I've managed to keep all my resolutions. Let's see.
1. Do things that make me enjoy my game. Yes, I managed this. I felt like starting a BaCC, so that's exactly what I did, and that's definitely something that has kept me interested this year. I'd been overwhelmed by the big plotty things, so it was nice to take a break and enjoy something completely different for a change. And in the end, it even got me to wanting to get back to the big plotty things again, which is also great.
2. Do some writing. Well, I did this as well. During 2015, I published 9 updates, out of which 8 were for the Lakewood BaCC and one was for the Bookacies. So it seems that the BaCC got me into writing again, too. I kept this purposedly vague, since in the beginning of the year I didn't know about my job situation (got my first permanent work contract two months into the year) and how I'd feel about writing and what it could be that I'd want to write. I didn't do any drabbles, like I planned that I might, but with 9 updates, I'm happy with this goal.
3. Be active, and catch up with reading if possible. I'll say this one is a pass, too. I've kept mostly on top of the stories that I previously read, and also caught up with a few new ones, which is more than I've managed most years.
All in all, it's been a good year simming-wise. And for real life, definitely better than the last couple ones. So, let's have a look at this year, then!
It seems that maybe these general and not too numerous goals work better for me than strict generational goals or other such things. So I'll stick to that style this year, too.
1. Enjoy my game. As always, because this is really important. It's ok to start new things or even abandon old ones if that's what makes it fun. (No, I don't intend to abandon anything, this is just to assure myself that it's ok to just have fun.) Fun is what this is intended for.
2. Keep writing. Writing is tedious sometimes, and hard, but it's still part of the fun. Doesn't matter what it is that I write, the important thing is to write.
3. Keep up the Weekly simming entries. Sometimes there's no progress, or very little progress, and that's okay. Progress reports are good for progress, and they also keep me from disappearing for months at a time. I've quite enjoyed being in the habit of posting my progress regularly, so I want to keep that up.
4. Be active. Try to comment in a timely manner, because comments are nice. When possible, catch up with new things too.
So basically, the same as last year, added with the Weekly simming thing. I'm hoping that keeping it simple will work again. So now it's a matter of trying to keep those resolutions!
