First of all, Happy 2019! May it be a good year for us all. I'm combining my last uneventful weekly simmings with my traditional Year in Review, so here goes.
I was right a couple weeks ago when I estimated that I might not have much, if any, progress during the last couple of weeks of the year. I traveled with the family for Christmas and spent a couple weeks in the warm. I also managed to get sick (because of course I did), as did all of the family at some point during the vacation. So yeah, I didn't even open the writing I had with me, or the TS4 randomizer. We got back yesterday afternoon and today was my first day back at work. At the moment I'm still recovering from jetlag. Probably not huge progress during the week (I keep forgetting it's already Wednesday, too), but on the other hand, I have a free weekend coming up with no plans, so maybe I'll get some simming time in then.
Alright, that just about covers the last couple of weeks of 2018. But how about the goals for last year, did I make them?
1. Have fun. I did! I may not have played that much, because real life, but it's been enjoyable, and I think I've been taking my playing and storytelling into the right direction, making it more enjoyable.
2. Be active, report progress, post picspams. I've only missed a couple of weekly simming entries for which I've made up later, and I've kept posting picspams whenever I've got any. The queuing still seems to work for me pretty nicely, too. At the moment it doesn't seem simmers will actually abandon Tumblr, not to me anyway, but if it does turn out that way, I guess I'll have to come up with something else. As for being active, I'll say "somewhat". It's kind of hard to keep track of everything I try to read, and I think I may again be behind on something I've forgotten to check. But I try, and when I miss something I'll eventually catch up.
3. Tentative goal: publish at least one Bookacy update. I did it! Only that one chapter though, but it's done and it counts! It's extremely slow, but it's not dead.
4. Keep working on the rebuild. Well, I have been, on the building side. According to my list, I've finished replicating five lots, so that's something. Of course, there's a lot of that to be done still, plus all the other tasks of the rebuild, so that promises to be a long project too. But I've been working on it.
Alright, so not bad. What about 2019?
1. Keep playing, have fun. The same as always, because this is the single most important thing.
2. Keep sharing, keep reporting, keep following. Because this is important too.
3. Publish at least one Bookacy update. I managed this last year, so I dare hope maybe I'll manage it this year too. The interlude I have in mind totally counts. I of course hope for more, but we'll see.
4. Keep rebuilding, if possible, finish the building part. This might be overly ambitious, but hey, I might as well put it out there. If it fails, it fails, that's life.
5. Try to make a decision about the apocalypse. It's been hiatusing for a long time, maybe it's time I tried to at least come up with a solution.
Alright, it seems like ambition is creeping back into these goals, and maybe that's a good thing, but I'll stop here so maybe I won't completely overdo it. Anyway, Happy New Year once again, I'll get back to you in less than a week for the first weekly simming of the year!

Date: Jan. 3rd, 2019 08:19 pm (UTC)You definitely seem to have started the year with a bang, three updates on the same day! I'll be returning with comments later, when I'm hopefully not about to fall asleep. :)
