Stealth update is stealthy

Okay, first of all, sorry about the radio silence. Work has been pretty busy lately, and on my free time I've been in Thesis Proofread Mode again. Hence very little time to sim. At least the thesis is now proofread, so my part on that is over, so hopefully I'll be able to do more sims related stuff now.
Also, I come bearing gifts! First off, we have a brief interlude for the Bookacies:

And secondly, something quite different! May I present, the first part of my Sekrit Project I've been mentioning for a pretty long time:

When it comes to the latter, I'd like to thank (in alphabetical order)
dicreasy,
docnerd and
mzyra for the use of their characters. And I'd like to apologize, in advance, about not always getting them right. Also, thanks for their house go to Orikes.
Both parts are available both on Slideshare and on Scribd. I personally recommend the Scribd versions, apparently the Slideshare ones are rather bad these days...
EDIT: I also recommend reading them in this order if you follow the Bookacies. :) Villains or Heroes? can also be read independently. Warning: Bad guys use bad words occasionally, but nothing too extreme.
I hope you enjoy!

Man oh man, I'm I glad I don't play that feeling-sorry-for-Sal drinking game! I would die of liver failure. Poor guy! ...And I'm quite glad that he's in jail for three consecutive lifetimes.
New stuff
Looks like your apocalypse is off to a good start! I'll be rooting for Sal, because of course it's okay to do so here. :)
And you're right -- you need to get that last skill point from actual skilling, not eggplant juice, or that LTW of Max All Skills won't register properly. I like your strategy of skilling until almost done when it's easy and then finishing up that skill point for #10.
Well done! *applauds and throws confetti*

*nods* Best not to play any drinking games if being sorry for Sal is a rule, that's definitely a liver-killer. And at the same time, it's good for the Bookacies that he's kept away from them for a long time.
New stuff
Thanks, I guess so far so good. I'm a little nervous that I might screw this thing up, but apparently haven't done so yet. And rooting for Sal is definitely OK here. ^^
It was a pretty nice strategy, even if I say so myself. :) At first I was a little worried about whether I'd be able to get eggplants on time and whether they'd be of good enough quality, but thankfully it all turned out well after all.
Thank you for reading and commenting! ^^

I like the fact that I can see Sal's point of view regarding the legacy family. It makes me sympathize with him to some degree. After all, Sal never seems like a completely evil person to me, just greatly misunderstood. I also like the fact that there's a nice amount of detail regarding his prison ordeal, especially with the dreams. Definitely a good introduction to the spinoff in general.
Prologue
The overall explanation of how Seth, Rodney, Cy, and Marielle is awesome and nice. And boy do I feel amused at Cy’s complaints, even though I certainly wouldn’t want to be in his shoes. Sounds like the other villains are also careful not to antagonize him as well, what with him being a serial killer and all.
The part where Rodney and Seth share the same room while both Cy and Marielle each have their own separate rooms was hilarious. After all, those two are inseparable no matter what happens. At least Seth likes the room, though. :D
Nice to see Sal making lots of friends and maximizing all of his skills in preparation of what lies ahead. That’s quite a true achievement as well as a necessity. And him with Bim is lovely as well. Glad she was told to stay indoors for her own safety. It would be really terrible if she dies during the explosion. *nods*
Anyway, I’m eager to see where your apoc is heading. Good luck on that!

Thank you! Yeah, that's how it's in my head: Sal is not actually evil. I'm not sure if I'd say he's misunderstood - what he does is not right, even though it's in some way understandable. His love for Author has turned into an obsession a long time ago, and he's unable to see past that obsession. That's basically what motivates him.
I had fun with the prison thing in general, I suppose I should show off the prison and talk about it when I do a BTS. :)
Prologue
Thank you, I'm glad that came over well. :) I'm a little uncertain on my handling of the borrowed characters, but hopefully I didn't get them all wrong from the start. In my head, Cypress is the most dangerous of them, and the others should be a little careful around him. I think he can take some snark, though, and currently has no benefit in hurting the others, so they're relatively safe. And maybe he enjoys snarking them himself.
I pretty much had to give them that room since it was red, which is supposedly Rodney's favorite color. The rooms sort of wrote themselves, as they were that way as Orikes made them. And it's true, Seth and Rodney sharing fits so well exactly because they are pretty much inseparable.
I'm quite happy with how well Sal managed to prepare. I used just about all the time, but I was ready on all counts when it ended, so that's all good. And Bim is totally awesome, I love having her. When I do a BTS it's goint to be a lot about how awesome Bim is. :)
Thanks! Some luck really is needed on that. I'll try hard not to screw up, but with the nature of the challenge, it's always possible.

Date: Nov. 14th, 2012 04:58 pm (UTC)You hit the right notes with Cypress! The arrogance, the lack of an internal filter, and the utter absence of anything remotely resembling a conscience. He'll put up with snark from someone who might be useful to him, but is much less tolerant of anyone who's NOT so useful. Seth and Rodney are right to be wary, because yes--Cypress won't hesitate to kill someone. That doesn't really pose much of a moral quandary for him.
I hope you're having fun with your Apoc! If you end up doing it, marrying in the Streakers is a hilarious romp through Naked Town! But on the plus side, you won't have to look at their pajamas and undies 24/7, just the pixel blur!

Date: Nov. 14th, 2012 06:53 pm (UTC)I understand that sentiment completely, there's some sympathy there but there's also a limit to how much of that can be mustered. It's sad that he's driven by a consuming obsession, but that doesn't make what he's done any less wrong. I'm not very optimistic about what prison will do to him, but we'll see...
Thank you! That means a lot, I'm pretty nervous about writing the borrowed characters, although it's fun, too. You were right, Cy turned out to be comparatively easy to write, alongside with Seth. I'm having more difficulties with Rodney and Marielle, but hopefully with time that'll be easier. In my head, Cypress is clearly the most dangerous of the group, so the others should be a bit careful - luckily for them, Seth knows him by reputation off the bat, so at least they're warned. It's also lucky that currently there's no benefit for Cypress in harming them, so they're relatively safe. And they could turn out to be useful alive, after all.
So far, it's definitely been fun! Bim hasn't really streaked so far, but then again micromanaging is kind of a must in an Apoc, so that might affect it. Otherwise, she's made of Awesome!
