So I've been tagged it seems, by [livejournal.com profile] docnerd and [livejournal.com profile] leaths. It's meme time!

A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question they don't like with a new, original question.

B) Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

Nah, everyone's been tagged already I guess. Well, if you haven't, then tag, you're it!

Meme here! )

Now to some reading and comments I hope. And the dishes.

I am alive

So yes, I did not die. Which I guess is an achievement of sorts in itself.

The work deadline was yesterday - and we finished on time. That took quite some overtime, and it had its toll on sleep and mental health. But now it's over with, and my chances of graduating are getting quite high. Not long anymore, I suppose. Which makes me feel pretty good. (In case you're wondering, I work as an undergraduate research assistant, so that's why I talk about work/school as if they were the same thing. In this case, they kind of are sometimes.)

So today I'm going to take it easy and relax, maybe catch up on some comments if I feel like it, and I may pop open my game some time later today, for the first time in weeks. Yay.

Now I've got both FT and Seasons sitting in my drawer just waiting to be installed. But as I have to at least check through all houses anyway that things are A-OK for installation, I'm thinking I might finish the rotation first, and if that can be done easily, maybe even synch the families so that everyone would be at the same day of the week. I figure that would make the seasonal rotations I'm planning to do somewhat clearer. Of course, I'm somewhat tempted to install ASAP, but well, it's not like my disks are growing feet and running away or something. Just rotating Alphabetia and getting it ready for installation at the same time should be fun, too.

So yeah. That's what's up with me right now. If you see sentences like "We thus conclude that gaining the 115th business star would be a very beneficial choice indeed, and an important further step towards achieving the state of permanent platinum for Baudolino Bookacy" in my next chapter, then you know I have been writing it too soon after the deadline.

I may just have to use that now. Or maybe not.

Anyway, just checking in, announcing that I'm still alive and kicking. For the moment, nothing else to say, but happy simming!

So. First of all, happy 2009, all! I survived the New Year (barely, but I did have fun), and I'm still somewhat tired. So now it's a good time to do what I've been intending to do.

I figured that as I'm only in generation C (or generation B still in the story), it's somewhat early for a recap yet. So I thought I'd rather do "who's who" by the generation. And today is time to remind ourselves of the founding generation. This will be easy, only three sims to introduce.

So who founded the legacy? )

So, this was the founding generation of the Bookacy family. I'll be posting a similar thing on generation A some time. And I'm planning to do it for all generations when I get that far. I want to keep track of my sims anyway, so I thought I'd post these thing for you to see as well, just for fun.

Anyway, now I think I'm off to bed. I'm still sleep deprived from New Year, and I suppose I can't sleep all day tomorrow either. Just as a final note: I have an important deadline coming up at work, so I'll probably be pretty silent on the simming front for a while. So I'm (probably) not dead or anything, just working.

So good night, and happy this year once again!

I was going to be all organized about this. I was going to start by posting a "who's who" for the founding generation and generation A, as those two have no new members coming anymore and the members are all at least adults. But well, plans often don't work out.

Random cute mini-picspam )

Anyway, I know this isn't an update, a who's who, or even real picspam. But well, for the moment it's all I've got. And it's cute.

Wow, bandwagons are tempting! This particular one has been calling my name for a while, so I gave in and jumped.

So, you're reading the very first entry of The Bookacy Family Alphabet Journal, the LJ for all my simming needs. Mostly the Bookacy family will be the topic of my ramblings, but it may well be that I throw in other sim stuff or some RL every now and then. Who knows.

So, what's up simming wise? Well, I've been on X-mas break from simming, just returned from my parents' yesterday. Today I've been setting up my journal - and I had to do a small photoshoot for the shiny new avatars. In case you're wondering, yeah, that is my simself, she's gotten a makeover. I got glasses in August myself, and I started feeling sorry for the poor thing that probably couldn't see a thing. So she recently got a makeover with glasses. (The glasses aren't exactly like mine, but they were the closest thing in game. I haven't seen my model exactly even in cc.)

Otherwise, there are no simming news from me since before X-mas. My next project is to write chapter 20, and I'm trying out a rotation system, before the legacy 'hood drives me crazy. And yes, I think my plot ideas are finally clearing up a bit. During this first rotation, I will have some plottiness to shoot... All that might not happen very fast, though. I have an important deadline coming at work, so we'll see what that does to my simming time.

Oh oh. I forgot something! I got FT for X-mas, and I'm pretty excited! I decided to wait with the installing though, with the deadline coming and all. Plus I have pretty good prospects of getting Seasons soonish, so installing two at once would save me some work. I'll also have to figure out how to install out of order and still not be infected by SecuRom. I've avoided it so far, so I'm not having it now... Anyway, secondary aspirations, summoning aliens and all kinds of fun should be on its way!

So yeah. As you can see, the rambling has already started. What I'm planning to put here in the future is pretty typical stuff: picspam, behind the scenes, possibly recaps and other extras. And whatever pops into my head, I guess.

For now, that's it I guess. Welcome to The Bookacy Family Alphabet Adventures, make yourself at home. Oh, and Happy New Year, now that I'm at it!
