Ha! So I finally got my act together and finished typing the Curious update. It's a little long (and that's partly why it took me so long), but what can I say, it was an eventful week too!

Anyway, as always, comments are welcome wherever you might feel inclined to leave them. I hope you enjoy!

This week, I've still been a bit restless and distracted, reading a Diana Gabaldon novel mostly. But I did get a bit of progress, mostly today actually. I played a couple of sim days of the Chun household in Alphabetia, and wrote some for the next Lakewood update. The latter is not terribly far away from complete anymore I think. With luck, I could get it done next week, but no promises.

At the moment it looks like I may be slowly coming back to things. I hope so, I've missed my sim stuff.

Well, I can't really say that I had much progress this week, either. I was fairly busy with work and stuff. Thursday was a day off, and I did try to play the next house in the Alphabetia rotation and write some captions for the next Lakewood update, but gave up pretty quickly, I was just too tired. And in the weekend I traveled for Mothers' Day, so no progress there either.

So it seems I'm in a bit of a dry spell currently. But that's okay, things go in phases so it happens. Maybe already next week is better?

Ok, so confession time: zero simming this week. I sort of forgot last weekend when writing the last weekly simming that this week was already vappu week. Vappu, as in May Day, a celebration on par with New Year's and Midsummer's here in Finland. It was this weekend, and I got to meet some friends and enjoy the great weather, so all in all a great time.

Another excuse, with possible overdose of nostalgy )

So yeah, excuses, but good ones at least in my opinion. ;) Maybe I'll have more time for simming next week.

Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] lorinsv60! I hope you have a great day! Today is one of the biggest celebrations of the year for us Finns, as it's May Day's Eve. So here's to you and to May Day! *toasts with sparkling*

Early this week, I finished playing the Curious family, and posted some picspam on them, too. Since then I've admittedly been a bit lazy, but I've written some of the chapter too. I'm maybe halfway through, or a bit further. In the weekend I would have had more time, but... I managed to get myself hooked on Don't Starve Together again, so whoops.

Well, that happens. Luckily I'm not on a deadline here. Maybe next week I'll get myself unhooked? :)

This week was perhaps a bit busier than I expected real life -wise, I did slightly longer hours at work and also exercised a surprising amount (go me!). But I did get a bit of simming progress too.

I continued playing the Curious household, they're in Sunday morning currently. I've also written their chapter some, though admittedly I'm somewhat behind on that. Not catastrophically, though, and besides, it's only one household. I'm not allowed to play the next one before I finish writing this one.

On the Bookacy side of things, I think I wrote a liiiittle bit of text on one of the "finished" slides, but the total of written slides still sits at 52.

Well, this week saw pretty nice progress. On the Bookacy side of things, I managed to finish the Bruenig family in rotation. After that, I sent the teens from the first quarter-rotation to college and took a full backup. I also finished posting the picspams from the quarter-rotation, so I made a picspam collection post. I've also again written a little bit for the next chapter, which is currently on 52 slides written.

In the weekend, I've been playing Lakewood again. The Curious household is in Wednesday currently, and I've also written some of the progress played.

So, pretty nice progress there, hopefully next week continues to be good!

It's been a while since I've done one of these picspam gathering posts, but now that I'm about a quarter of the way through with the main 'hood rotation in Alphabetia, I figured it was about time.

If you follow my Tumblr, you've probably aready seen them, and if you start from the top of the blog, you'll get them in the reverse order (because I post them in the order they happen). In any case, here they are, family by family.

Phillips: 1 2 3
Riley: 1 2 3
Thayer: 1 2 3 4
Bruenig: 1 2 3 4

And finally, here are some college makeovers! Glad to have some progress in Alphabetia. :)

Still thinking hard about the rebuild, but since I seem to have sorted a couple of the issues that first looked like neighborhood corruption, I might yet wait and see. The 'hood probably has some corruption (after all, it's from 2007), but perhaps we can manage some time yet. In any case, it doesn't mean I can't plan for the rebuild, even start building the new 'hood on the side if I want. Maybe that'd be a good idea.

Alright, so first my weekly progress report. This week was a pretty nice one progress-wise. On Monday, I finished the third week for the Capps in Lakewood. I also posted picspam on them. And yesterday, I finished writing the related update. So not bad!

Today, I've been playing the Bruenig house in Alphabetia. I'm a couple of days into the rotation, which is nice progress-wise. And I've written a little on the next Bookacy update, currently on 47 slides. So a little bit of progress there too.

But with the glitches that I'm facing, I'm now really starting to think about the upcoming rebuild. I think it may be upon us sooner than I've thought. So to clear my own head, I'll go into more detail below. Follow the cut if interested!

Rebuild babble )

Ok, I think that was most of what I currently have in mind about the rebuild. Feel free to say if you have opinions or advice on it - much appreciated. :) I think I'll tune the to-do list on the rebuild a bit and post it some time soonish.

So, here I come, bearing an update! It's time for the third week with the Capps.

As usual, if you feel like leaving a comment, they are welcome anywhere it suits you. I hope you enjoy!

As predicted, Easter week was sort of busy, especially in the weekend as I was out of town visiting my parents. That's why I didn't post the weekly simming yesterday, either.

But I did get a little progress early in the week, and today was a day off so I got to play some. Currently I'm allllmost done with the Capp rotation, I might make it yet before bed today. I'm a bit behind in writing it, but well, that happens. On the Bookacy side, we're still sitting at 44 slides written, so nothing new there.

In the coming week, I'm presumably pretty busy during the week, but in the weekend I'll probably have some time to play.
katrisims: (basic)
Still the right day where I'm at! Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] biglenny! I hope you have/had a great day!
katrisims: (basic)
I only simmed during the weekend, but then, I simmed a rather large amount. More than I have for a while.

First, I managed to finish the Thayer household in the Bookacy rotation. The rest of the rotation was maybe a bit less boring than the beginning. Still, if I'm going to axe some of the cousins, the Thayers are probably not going to make the cut. *ponders* Maybe I'll go with some kind of a towniefication approach... Anyway. The household also suffered more than its fair share of glitches this round, I suppose the 'hood is starting to show its age. On the other hand, the Thayers have had more glitches than most others pretty much always.

I also wrote a little bit of the next Bookacy update again. It's now on 44 slides. There I could have used a bit more progress, but I suppose you can't have it all.

After finishing the Thayers, I decided that I've earned to play the BaCC forward, so I played the Capps up until Thursday morning. It's been fun and rather eventful, and I'm pretty well caught up with writing that, too. Not entirely, but pretty well.

So not bad at all for one weekend's progress! Definitely one of my better weeks progress-wise. Next week is the Easter week, so I don't expect a lot of progress. Well, maybe I'll have a little.
katrisims: (basic)
Very good progress this week. I managed to sit down and type up the next Lakewood update. I posted it yesterday, despite the fact that Photobucket tried its best to prevent me from doing so. I had to upload the pictures a few at a time, because about half of them weren't going through any given time so I needed to know which were the ones failing. That was a pain, but in the end I got my pictures there. I hope whatever that was passes by the time it's time for the next update.

Now that the next Bookacy update is all arranged with all the pictures I have (so far, I haven't yet decided where to end it), I also wrote a bit there. The update is currently at 40 slides written, and story-wise at the end of Dirk's first year in college. So not bad.

I also started playing the next house in the Bookacy rotation, the Thayers. And here comes the confession: I'm kind of bored. It's a big household, so the life there is kind of a mess, and it's not the most interesting one. I suppose if I can't go right back to the main house or my other favorites, I'd rather be playing the BaCC forward. I feel a bit guilty about that. Again, it gets me to ponder about what to do about the huge extended family in the long run.

Well, in any case, this week's progress was good. Hopefully next week's will be, too!

After a long wait (and tonight's long battle with Photobucket) here's finally the first part of the third week in Lakewood. As usual, comments are welcome wherever you might be inclined to leave them. :) I hope you enjoy!

I'll say this week's progress was pretty good. I finally managed to finish the Davidson household, and with that, I unlocked the first BD for Lakewood and got a pretty nice population boost, so yay! Here's some picspam on that.

I also did some writing, and I'm currently maybe halfway through the Davidson update. Since my playing was so sporadic in the last few weeks, I haven't been able to write as I play as much I usually do. Still, it shouldn't be a huge effort. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get it done next week. I might even write a little bit more before bed today.

As for the Bookacy side of things, I did get something done there as well. Namely I finally finished pre-arranging the pictures I've taken in the slideshow. Phew, that was a task. I sometimes wonder whether I could come up with a better process for that one. Well, now that's done with, and the next thing to do is to continue writing the update, and of course play the next house in the rotation. Slowly but surely things move along there too.

Next week doesn't look particularly busy, so here's hoping I can keep on making progress! *knocks on wood*
katrisims: (basic)
As I suspected, not much progress this week, as I was again busy during the weekend. I did play a bit early in the week, and now I'm just about one sim day away from unlocking that BD, if only all goes well. I did also arrange some pictures for the Bookacy chapter while I was at it. (Man that is slow going...)

This week I'll be busy during the week, but hopefully I'll have time to play in the weekend. Fingers crossed!
katrisims: (basic)
Whoops, it's not a Sunday! Last night I was really tired, and kind of forgot I was supposed to do weekly simming.

Not that there's very much to report. I made the decision to extend the next rotation in Lakewood for everyone so that I can gain the BD already, and I did play a little bit on Monday, but didn't make it that far. During the rest of the week I had headaches (being an office worker sucks sometimes), and in the weekend, when I was feeling better, I was out of town.

So not much progress to speak of, really. And this week looks like the same at least in the sense that I'll be busy in the weekend. Perhaps I'll have time and energy for a little bit of simming during the week, but we'll see how that turns out.
katrisims: (basic)
Pretty decent progress this week.

In the beginning of the week, I started playing the Davidsons, and continued during the weekend. I'm currently in Friday morning, and because the high levels in the Business career don't have work on weekends, it looks like Ajay will likely be one promotion away from that coveted Business District. Dammit! I'm even considering allowing an extension to their rotation, just long enough for Ajay to come home from work on Monday. That's how bad I want the BD.

I've also started writing the related update. I'm not quite up to where I've played with it, but at least I've got something. The relaxed Lakewood updates are pretty easy to write, thankfully.

On the Bookacy side of things, I've kept arranging the pictures from the last main house session. It's slow going, but little by little that's progressing too.
