... still on time where I'm at! Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] superfr0g, I hope it is/was a great one!

Again, I only simmed during the weekend, but I still managed some progress. I finished the Riley house in the rotation and did a little picture arranging on the side. So that's all good, apparently I can just about do one house in a weekend if I put myself to it.

I also took a backup again. I think next I'll switch to Lakewood and play the Davidsons, crossing my fingers for that Business District that the 'hood so badly needs. I suppose we'll see about that next week!

This week's progress was better than last week's, even though I only got to play in the weekend again. Yesterday I spent a bit of time picking up some cc that I've been drooling after. While I was at it, I also updated my resources post with creators I didn't already have stuff from.

Today I finished the Phillips house in the rotation and posted some picspam on them. (I'll be doing a picspam collection post later in the rotation.) I also started a little bit on the next house in the rotation, the Rileys. I think I'm going to play a little bit more yet before bed today.

And on top, I've done a little bit of arranging on the next chapter. Little by little, we're moving along.

This was one of my not so great simming weeks. I've felt too tired most evenings, plus I've been distracted by a couple of absorbing books. (A continuation of a Finnish fantasy series I used to read when I was younger.)

The only thing I've done simming-wise is arranging some pictures for the next Bookacy chapter today. Well, I suppose I've also been thinking about some upcoming plot. I had one in mind for the downgrade, and I was quite excited about getting to that part, but now I'm not so sure. Not sure if that's what I want to do, if that's where I want to go with my bad guys. And maybe I want to save that plot turn for later. After all, Cho's generation has seen a lot of drama. Of course, something still needs to happen to explain the downgrade. And possibly the change with the extended family that I'm planning.

Well, there' still time until we get to that point. I guess I'll just have to keep thinking, playing and writing!

This week wasn't maybe as productive as last week, but I did manage some progress, mostly during the weekend.

I finished playing the spring rotation in the main house. The Bookacies got a new pet. :)

After that, I also played a couple of days in the next household in the rotation, the Phillips family. I can tell by now that I can apparently speed up my playing the spare households a bit, but overall I'm still a rather slow and easily distracted simmer. Well, I suppose we'll see how the rotation will start going. In the end, I think I've let the clan get too big, and I'll have to do something about it at the rebuild point. Again, we'll see.

On the writing side, I haven't actually written any, but I did arrange some pictures for the next chapter. So the written slide count remains at 36.

So yeah. Okay progress this week. :)

The first weekly simming of the year! (Resolutions: so far so good!)

I'd say that I made quite good progress this week. During the week, I had some real life stuff going on, such as my parents being over, plus work, but especially in the weekend I got some stuff done.

I posted some New Year's simming resolutions as I had planned. Last year's resolutions went well, so I'm keeping this year's simplistic as well.

Yesterday, I managed to finish writing the final Lakewood update of week 2, so that alone is good. And now I'm completely caught up with my playing in that 'hood, which means I'm again allowed to play a new household.

I do think there'll be a break in my Lakewood updates, though. After finishing the update, I've been playing the Bookacies, and other than Marylena's death :( , it's been fun again. Desdemona is a teenager! There's about a day and a half left in the main house rotation, and after that I think I'll at least get started with the other households before going back to Lakewood. The current plan is to mix a Lakewood house into the Alphabetia rotation every now and then, so that I hopefully keep myself from being bored, and at least in the best case scenario, update a little more regularly than I otherwise would.

So, a pretty nice start for the year I'd say, hopefully the trend continues!

Here comes the first update of the year, and the final one in Lakewood's second week!

Well, another year has gone by, and it's time to have a look at how things went and make some plans for the future.

2015 )

All in all, it's been a good year simming-wise. And for real life, definitely better than the last couple ones. So, let's have a look at this year, then!

Time for the last weekly simming of, well, last year technically. Oh, and a Happy New Year!

This week was more productive than I had expected. I finished playing the last household of the second week in Lakewood, and I'm pretty far along in writing, too. I posted some picspam here.

After that, it was time to take a backup. Well, it's always a good time for a backup.

And after that, I finally played Alphabetia again! I went through the households to check on clothes and hair just in case, and here are a couple of pictures of the excitement. Today it was time for the hard part, Baudolino's death. It was pretty sad, and there'll be more of that for sure in the coming rotation, but thankfully not the sad stuff only. Goodbye, Baudolino, you'll be missed.

Not sure how next week will turn out, but I hope I'll manage some progress again. And I'm hoping to do a traditional resolutions post for the new year. We'll see how it all goes.

Naturally, because of the holidays, there's not much to report for this week, but since I'm a completist, I'll report it anyway. I spent most of the week out of town with the family, and it was nice.

Only today I've had time to play, and I've been playing Brandi's week. It's fun and a different challenge, and so far it's going nicely. I'm pretty well caught up with the writing, too, as I caught up again last Sunday after writing the weekly simming. The Bookacies are on 34 slides, so a little bit of progress there too - and actually, I'm almost caught up with my playing there, too.

Next week I'll probably have stuff to do in the evenings, and then there's the New Year's, but in the weekend I think I'll have time to sim. I suppose we'll see about that then. :)

Happy Holidays from the Fortunato-Pleasant family, and of course me! I hope you have a nice, relaxing time, and we'll be seeing you soon again!
katrisims: (basic)
Again, I'll combine the two posts of the day into one, as they'd otherwise come in pretty close succession.

This week, despite the approaching Christmas, I managed to get some time to sim, mostly in the weekend. Yesterday I finished playing the Fortunato household, and today I finished typing the update. I like how the type as I play thing works for this challenge! Oh, and again I wrote a little bit for the Bookacies too. Chapter 42 is now on 33 slides. I'm now excited for two things: next, I get to play Brandi's challenge, and after that, I think I'll play the Bookacies! It's been ages.

I again think I may have the hack thing cornered, as I didn't manage to reproduce it a single time while playing the Fortunatos, and with two sims able to dazzle. We'll see, but even if it turns out that it's not in my current quarantine folder, it might be that I'll then just live with it. It's been way too long since I played Alphabetia.

But, in any case, there was an update to be had!

As always, comments are welcome anywhere if you feel inclined to leave them. :) I hope you enjoy the update!

Well, Christmas stuff seems to have taken over a bunch of my time this week, as was to be expected. Just today, I baked gingerbread, and the results were yummy. (And fortunately there's still gingerbread left for actual Christmas.)

I did sim some yesterday, and even managed to fix the stuck portraits problem I was having in Lakewood. The neighborhood family portraits were stuck, meaning that they wouldn't update when someone moved in, grew up etc. But in the end, I managed to find the solution, which just amounted to taking the correct file out of the correct folder, and the game generated new portraits. And they seem to be refreshing now, too. Yay!

Anyway, I played the Fortunato household some, and I think I'm at Thursday morning there at the moment. Today I had some neck problems (again...) and the baking took time, too, but in the evening, I've been able to catch up on the writing a little bit again. So! There's been progress, hooray!

A fairly busy week behind irl, so I didn't really have time/energy to sim during the week. Christmas is coming, so that takes some of my time, too. Now I've been making cards and wrapping gifts and stuff.

But in the weekend, I've had some actual free time, so I've been playing the Fortunato household, and it's been fun. Someone's moved in, and I've built a proper house for the two of them, too. And I've also been writing some as I've played like a good girl. Maybe if I'm lucky, I might get one more update in before Christmas. But that does take some luck, we'll see.

First off, I don't know if you'll be seeing this, but happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] ndainye! I hope it's a great one!

This week has been quite nice simming-wise. Most importantly, I finished playing as well as writing the next Lakewood update. Oh, and I shared a little bit of picspam on the Curious houseld, too.

In addition, I even got started on the next household, Fortunato. That one is slow because of all the dates and generally the tendency to spend a lot of time on community lots, but it's fun. Again, I also did a little bit of writing for the next Bookacy chapter, and I'm on 30 slides there now. Maybe after I finish the next two households, I'll actually play the main Bookacy family forward. I miss them like mad.

Fingers crossed for a good next week, too!

Update time! I got the Curious household update typed up, so here it is:

As I estimated in the end of last week, this week was indeed somewhat quieter than last week. I still had some real life stuff to do; I went to see Apocalyptica in concert and started proofreading a friend's thesis, and in the weekend I absolutely had to clean the apartment. But in the end, I still had some time for simming too.

I've played the Curiouses, in fact I probably would have finished their week already if I hadn't played the electronics store as much as I have. Now I've got two sim days to go. And I've written, too. I'm not quite up to date with my playing, but still, there's been progress. And I'm on 24 slides on the Bookacy chapter after this week, so a bit of progress there too.

All in all, it's been a pretty good simming week. Hopefully the next one continues to be good!
katrisims: (basic)
Another fairly busy week IRL behind, just returned from the capital again this evening. (Had a tasty dinner with sister and new brother-in-law and a couple others, organized as a thank you for helping with the wedding.)

I only simmed a little bit early in the week, played the OWBC forward a little. On the other hand, I did a bit of writing on a couple of evenings, so now I'm up to date with my playing in Lakewood, and again I even wrote a couple of Bookacy slides this week. I think I'm on like 15 slides there now.

So again, progress is being made little by little. Maybe next week will be a bit quieter, we'll see.
katrisims: (basic)
Not very much to report this week. I was away for the weekend, so my chance for the biggest usual simming time chunk of the week was pretty much null and void. But I have no complaints, I got to go to the theater instead (or well, Mamma Mia! is really almost more of a concert), and that was fun too. :)

I did start a little bit on the OWBC household in the beginning of the week, though, and I did write a little bit too. I even wrote a couple of slides for the Bookacies, which I haven't touched for a longish while. So, progress is progress and it still counts!

I think next week will be more of the same, but we'll see when we get there.
