Still kind of distracted this week, and also kind of busy with real life. My parents were over for the weekend, but I did get a little bit of progress, mostly today. Only about a sim day in the Patch household, so they have three to go before the rotation is over for them. I should really get to it so I can back up my progress. (I prefer to take backups between houses in rotation.)

Other than that, I did get my TS4 legacy founders married and expecting sometime this week, so I suppose that sort of counts even though I'm keeping stuff unpublished for now. It seems it's somehow easier to go to TS4 after work and a bit tired, probably because I have so much going on in TS2 so it can get overwhelming. Plus since I'm not publishing it at the moment, there's no pressure there either. Well, whichever way is fun.

Today, I've also been procrastinating by reading some old fics by [livejournal.com profile] mzyra. Because they're fun and I felt lazy, not that much like working on my own stuff. That reminded me I should do something about that apocalypse. Or not only reminded me, rather made me want to, well because Seth and Rodney. <3 Too many projects, too many distractions, too little time. Well, I suppose I'll get to that, and everything, eventually. One step at a time.

A little bit of progress this week. I finished playing that grandparent vacation that I've been complaining about. It kind of felt like it took forever, though maybe it was a bit more interesting towards the end. The Patches apparently still have 4 days left in their rotation, so that's still going to take a bit of time.

I've also played that TS4 legacy forwards a bit, my foundress is now engaged. It's still fun, so I've been a little distracted from Alphabetia by that, and other things, such as re-playing Twilight Princess. (Hey, I've now gotten past that annoying start of the desert temple thing that's got me stuck on a couple of attempts.)

So it seems that my concentration isn't great these days, and maybe the autumn is affecting my energy levels too. But we're trotting along, very slowly, and we're still here. A bit of progress is better than no progress.

I came home late yesterday evening, hence too tired to do weekly simming. Well, anyway, not that there's much to report anyway. I didn't have a lot of time to sim and was away for the weekend. I did play the Patches a little bit, maybe a day of the vacation or so, and also a little bit of that TS4 legacy I started the week before.

Yeah, I'm dragging my feet again, it seems that the grandparent vacation is kind of boring. But since everyone else has gotten their grandparent vacations, it'd be unfair not to give the Patches theirs. (Okay, I'm apparently kind of nuts, thinking something is "unfair" towards pixels on my computer...) Oh well, I'll get to it eventually. At least this week I shouldn't be traveling, so maybe I'll have a bit more time to sim. We'll see.

Finally got the next Lakewood update typed up! I hope you enjoy the update, and as usual, comments are welcome wherever you might feel inclined to comment. :)

While I'm at it, I'll do a quick Weekly simming. Other than the above, not hugely much to report. I've been mostly writing the update, plus playing that new TS4 legacy I started for curiosity and fun. I'm documenting, but for now I'll keep it unpublished. We'll see if I can get further along, then I'll consider again. So far it's been fun. :)

Oh, and I did play the Patches a little bit yesterday, forwarded the grandparent vacation. But then my back started acting out and I called it a day. Oh well.

Anyway, that has been this week's simming. We'll see about the situation again next week!
katrisims: (basic)
This week I've done some simming-related stuff, but still not hugely much. I've been lazily writing the next Lakewood update, but as you can see, it's not ready yet. I really should keep up the writing better than I have. Edit: Oh, and I've played the next house in the Alphabetia rotation for about a day or so, remembered to send the grandparent Patches on that grandparent vacation they missed last rotation, which was apparently *ahem* two years ago or so.

Now in the weekend I've been doing something I don't even necessarily need to do: going on a small downloading spree, as I've seen stuff I want in recent GoS events. That, and I've been tossing around the idea of starting a TS4 legacy, and *ahem* actually, even making a score sheet for that. Because I don't already have enough distractions.

Well really, since I bought the game but haven't really played all that much, and have seen others enjoying it. Plus reading Pinstar's rules made me want to try it. Plus I'm already past the limit of having too many sims/challenges to keep up with at once (*cough* the apocalypse *cough*) so what the heck. :D My plan is to keep it unpublished for now, and maybe share later if it looks like it'll hold my interest.

Not sure of the busyness degree of next week, but hopefully I'll get some progress in.
katrisims: (basic)
This week, I've been taking a break. I haven't really felt like simming, so I haven't as much as opened my simming computer. Early in the week my new Harry Potter arrived in the mail, so I obviously had to read it (it was quite enjoyable). Afterwards, I didn't really feel like simming, so I sort of half-consiously decided I would take a break this week. Besides, I've been pretty busy too. Now in the weekend, my sister and my brother-in-law were visiting, and I went to watch them take part in a sports competition. That was fun, and made me think I should maybe try jogging again. We'll see how that goes.

So I do think I maybe overdid it a bit during the vacation. But that's okay, as is taking a break. I'm not sure how I will feel next week, but I'll be sure to return to simming sooner or later. I always do, so I'm positive.
katrisims: (basic)
Whoops, I forgot to do weekly simming yesterday!

So, as was predictable, last week wasn't as productive as the past few, as it was my first week back at work. I'll admit that maybe I also felt a little less motivated to sim than I have recently; maybe I played a little too much on my vacation.

Anyway, I did get something done: I finished playing the first week of a new household in Lakewood, and I shared some picspam too. For the interested, I also shared a couple of pics from last weekend's building sessions.

I'll admit I'm behind in writing that week I played, I'm lazy like that. But, all in due time. Maybe this week? Who knows. I'll be busy in the weekend, but maybe I'll still get some progress during the week.
katrisims: (basic)
Well, I'll say this was quite the productive week. In the beginning of the week, my relative visits continued. Fortunately I was prepared for all the sitting in vehicles: I had my unfinished chapters with me on the laptop, so I was able to write quite a satisfactory amount while on the road. I should do something like that more often. Not having other things (like *cough* my game...) to distract me is good for writing productivity. Anyway, as a result, I was able to update not once but twice this week! First, I finished the Broke update of Lakewood, and a bit later, chapter 42 of the Bookacies! (Hey, I managed under a year this time! Barely, but still...)

Towards the end of the week I also got to play. I finished the Jalowitzes and the Camerons, the latter of whom admittedly only got one day because all the kids are in college. After that, I've been playing a new household in Lakewood. It looks like the new challenge's founder is going to have to extend spouse hunting to my new tropical vacation location, so I figured that'd be a little easier if there were, you know, some actual lots to visit in said location. So now in the weekend, I've been on a bit of a building kick. I'll probably share some pictures at some point.

This week concludes my summer vacation, so it's back to work tomorrow morning. That means that progress is for the most part going to be slower again, but hey, that's life. All in all, I'm quite happy with the progress that I managed in these past weeks. We'll see what I can get done next week!
katrisims: (basic)

Hey look, it's the Slowest Legacy on Earth! It's been less than a year (maybe days less, but less nevertheless...), and I've already posted a Lakewood update this week! What is this madness? Oh, right, it's called summer vacation.

I hope you enjoy the chapter, and as usual, comments are welcome wherever you might feel like commenting. :)
katrisims: (basic)

I made use of the time that I needed to sit in vechiles; I think I should do that more often, based on the amount of stuff I got written this time. To be fair, I did sit in vechiles quite a bit, too. In any case, here's part of the fruit of my labor. I hope you enjoy the chapter, and as always, comments are welcome wherever you might feel inclined to leave them!
katrisims: (basic)
This week's progress wasn't as huge as last week's as I've had a bit more real life going on. I've had a couple of guests over, plus I've been visiting relatives. But still, I've managed quite nice progress.

First I finished playing the Broke family's week and posted some picspam on them. Next, since I had a plan for a couple new playable families for Lakewood, it was a good time to add some new townies and to set up Lakewood's first vacation destination. It was my first time setting one up from scratch, so I hope I managed things okay and didn't break anything. I do have a backup too just in case.

I also played a couple of days of the next Alphabetia household, the Jalowitzes. They are one of my favorites, but so far the rotation has been kind of uneventful.

Towards the end of the week, I've been visiting family and hence there's some sitting in vechiles. I was sneaky and took my laptop plus the unfinished chapters with me, so there's something to do on said vechiles. So far I've managed to finish the next Lakewood update, I only need to check some stats on the simming computer plus make a cover before posting it. I've also written some on the next Bookacy update, which is currently on 105 slides. So I probably shouldn't make it hugely much longer anymore, but I'm looking for a good place to stop, plus I'm considering adding a little bit of plot in the end.

So nice progress this week, too. One week of the vacation left. I know the relative visits continue for a bit, but that means some writing can happen on the road. Towards the end of the week I should have some game time too.
katrisims: (basic)
So! Last week there was no progress because of my vacation, and this week there's been plenty of it - because of my vacation. :)

I played through two whole households in Alphabetia and posted picspam on Tumblr (collection post at LJ coming later). Not sure when was the last time that I got two whole households done in one week. I've also written the next chapter again, we're currently at 91 slides, so quite nice progress there too. It's been almost a year since the last Bookacy update (again...), so I'd really like to get one done some time.

After doing two households in a row in Alphabetia, I decided it was time for some Lakewood. So I've been playing the Broke TPC. They're currently at Friday morning, so quite far along, and I'm also decently caught up with the writing there.

Outside of simming, I've been cleaning out my wardrobe (it always becomes a huge mess at some point), reading, exercising a bit, even caught a movie one evening. So all in all, vacation time is lovely :)

Good progress this week, I hope the trend continues next week!
katrisims: (basic)

For the sake of completeness, have a non-progress report for the past week. There was no simming, because I spent the first week of my summer holiday in Rome. It was a very hot week (around 35 degrees centigrade and sunny), but being careful to take a siesta every day, a very enjoyable one. I just returned this evening, so unpacking and laundry are ongoing.

I've still got a few weeks of vacation time left for the summer, so I'd expect some progress in the coming weeks. :) I plan to start by catching up on replies, reading and commenting in the next few days.
katrisims: (basic)

Well, first things first, we have an update! That was closer to done than I thought. As always, comments are welcome wherever you might feel inclined to leave them. I hope you enjoy!

Weekly simming )
katrisims: (basic)
Well, this week was nicer than the last at least in the sense that now I'm no longer ill. I was a bit optimistic about getting healthy last Sunday. I did try to go to work on Monday, but noticed pretty soon that it wasn't such a great idea, headed to occupational health, where they sent me back home to rest. So I rested Monday and Tuesday (doing pretty much literally nothing) and headed back to work on Wednesday, successfully this time.

I was able to sim a little bit early in the week, I think it was Tuesday evening. I played the Fortunatos forward a bit, and today, now that we're done with Midsummer's, I've been continuing on that. Their week is currently at Thursday. I've also been writing as I've played, even though I'm again a bit behind there, but not hopelessly so.

As for the Bookacies, I've done a bit of writing there too, and the chapter currently stands at 69 slides written. I've managed to write past one of the painful points, Baudolino's death. So that's good. I'm also tossing around a new alternative plot for the downgrade point, one that would deal with the cousins in a sort of "soft" way. At the moment I'm kinda liking it, though at the same time wondering whether such a solution will be enough. We'll see. In any case, I'll need to start foreshadowing the events in the next few chapters. It's pretty fun to have plot points in mind again!

Next weekend I'm expecting some busyness, so whatever progress will happen will likely happen during the week, if there's any.
katrisims: (basic)
Well, this wasn't such a great week for simming. During the week, I mostly played Civ V in the evenings, determined to war against the aggressive AIs and win. Well, on Thursday, I finally did that and was looking forward to simming in the weekend. On Friday afternoon, I promptly fell sick. Some kind of a summer flu. So instead of the grocery store, I just headed to the drug store, and came home to sleep. At the moment, I'm still sniffling, but I haven't had temperature since yesterday afternoon, so I suppose if it doesn't get worse, then it's back to work tomorrow.

I even found a little concentration today so I played for a little while, finishing the first day with the Fortunatos. I captioned some pictures of them too, and wrote a couple of slides for the Bookacy chapter, which is currently on 61 slides. So I suppose the weekend wasn't entirely wasted.

Next week is Midsummer week, so I don't expect a lot of progress. There may be a little early in the week if I can get rid of the flu, and possibly in the very end. We'll see.
katrisims: (basic)
Well, this was a pretty productive week when it comes to sims, in both playing and otherwise. I managed to finish the Mellon household in Alphabetia and posted picspam on them. After that, I took a full backup again, just to be safe.

Computer babbles )

Now in the evening I played a little bit of the Fortunato household in Lakewood, mostly to see if things worked right. Still seems they do, I was able to play and take pictures normally. So so far so good. Oh, and I wrote a little bit of the Bookacy chapter, on 58 slides now.

So, that was this week, we'll see how things go next week. :)
katrisims: (basic)
A little bit of progress this week. I played the Mellons for about a day and a half, so now they have three days left in the rotation. There's a teening ahead that I'm looking forward to. I also - lo and behold - wrote a few slides on the next Bookacy chapter. That one is on 56 slides written now.

Otherwise I've been a bit distracted, mostly by other games. I played a little bit of TS4, continued on the family I played last time, way back then. That was fun too. And then Civ V has got me a little bit hooked again. I think I *ahem* may have to go and try beat Montezuma, my nemesis, again. And probably fail miserably.

Little by little, things are coming along. After the Mellons, I think I'll do another household in Lakewood.
katrisims: (basic)
Feeling pretty tired right now, so a quick weekly simming this time. On Monday, I managed to finish the Chun family's rotation in Alphabetia and posted picspam. On Tuesday, I tried to start a bit on the next family, the Mellons, but gave up pretty quickly, was too tired.

After that I haven't had time to sim, as the rest of the week was pretty busy, and I traveled in the weekend. A visit to my sister and The Phantom of the Opera by the National Opera were definitely worth it.

Anyway, some progress in the early week was good. We'll see about more next week!
katrisims: (basic)
Well, this week was pretty good on the progress front. As I hoped, I managed to finish typing plus post the Curious update for Lakewood on Friday. Finally!

In the weekend, my parents were over to take care of some things that needed a car (I don't have one), and I set up my balcony for the summer, but I still managed to play about a day and a half of the Chun family. About a day and a half left in their rotation yet. So not too bad.

I suppose this week's simming is done with, since well in ten minutes it's time for the hockey final. It's the final so I suppose I'll be watching. I know everyone else is - it's like totally dead out on the street right now. :D

Next week looks to be on the busy side with real life, but maybe I'll still have a little bit of time for simming too. One can only hope!
