Happy 2012, all! Here's hoping your year will be great and prosperous! Mine at least started great, with an awesome party with friends. (And now I'm just a wee bit tired...)

So, since 2011 is now officially over with, I thought I'd look back and see how I did with regard to my simming resolutions for 2011, and then maybe try and make a few for this year.

So, how did I fare with my last year's resolutions?

So overall, I suppose it's okay. These grandiose plans never come out quite that grand, right? Well, what should I try to accomplish this year?

I've been a little restless the last couple of days, wanting to play and not wanting to play at the same time, not knowing how to settle down to do anything, so I decided to do this so I can sit down and do something.

Below the cut you'll find the Bookacy family Legacy score card. I figured I should make one and post it because a) I am playing for points, after all and b) I play by the old-old rules, which probably no-one remembers anymore, so from a score card you can pretty much see what the rules I play by are: basically, the usual no-cheating legacy rules, and then the things I get points for are listed in the card. And yeah, those are the really old-old rules, as per marry in NPCs for points and no categories etc.

I realize that this scoring is kind of points rich compared to the new rules, but well, that's part of why I like it: it feels more fulfilling to do something that takes a fair amount of effort if you get a bucketload of points for it. ;) On the other hand, I don't get points for basically things after OFB. *shrug* Also, I may adjust the scoring later, I think I might incorporate the Master points from the new rules at the first downgrade point, as per docnerd's suggestion: after each downgrade you have to re-gain the Master points if you want to select aspirations. Oh, and I shamelessly stole the score card format idea from pnkpnthr334 as I happened to stumble into it.

Alright, so I thought I'd start shooting on the epic wedding of Chris and Cyrus, and I did. My first observation was that no, shooting a wedding that's supposed to have basically the whole town invited in the method of having the whole town present is no longer feasible. Go figure. I'd show you a picture but apparently my machine was so stuck that Gadwin didn't even get one. Pity, the whole extended family crammed into Chris and Cyrus' tiny house was quite a sight.

Fourth prompt already, yay! This is canon-ish, although I don't think it'll be included in a chapter.

In other news, I decided I'm allowed to play through the mini-rotation at college before I start shooting the massive plottiness that is Cyrus and Chris' wedding. So I started on that, and it feels good to get to play Alphabetia a bit. :) I also realize I should continue with the autumn picspam I was doing before, although now the pictures are a little old.

Okay, so it seems I blew the apocalypse, just like I knew I would. I misinterpreted a rule - too strictly, which in the end caused me to break the rules. Oh well, so now I again know what doesn't work. Maybe next time.

And I may be a bit stuck on my third Myshuno prompt. I have an idea, not a very surprising one, but so far I haven't been able to capture it in words.

Buuuut... The plumbing renovation at my apartment is DONE! Hooray! There are a couple of minor things they have to do afterwards, but there's no more dust, no more renovation men marching in at 7 o'clock in the morning, and I have my own shower, and my own toilet. And the bathroom has lights, and it has a door. You might guess that I'm pretty happy about that. :) And the bathroom became really nice, too. So with that, all is good.

Also, I'm almost done with the next chapter. :) I've written everything I had, and I'm currently on 95 slides. It'll be a little bit longer than that, as I realized I forgot one tiny scene, or part of a scene. I know the area where I just about want to insert it, too. But after that, I'll basically need to re-read the whole thing to catch possible goofs, and to make a cover. So barring real life disasters etc., I'm hoping to post in the next few days. Yay. :)

I'm not entirely happy with it, it's a little rough around the edges and could use some cutting probably, but I fear that if I edit it more, I'll end up writing more, and I already needed several days to write this so... Alright, so I'm looking forward to October when this starts. :) For now, I'll try to get back to my chapter writing - which is actually going kinda nice this time *is surprised*. All pictures are pre-arranged and I've got *checks* 21 slides written. Yay! Fingers crossed it keeps going well.
